Warnings: Talking about the final Pinof (I know its a sensitive subject to some, and that's perfectly okay)

This was kinda my way of getting out some of my feelings.

"Are you ready?" Phil yells from his bed, camera equipment ready. They were filming Phil is not on fire 10 today.

The final Phil is not on fire.

"Yeah!" Dan yells from somewhere in the flat before striding into the room. He tosses two sharpies at Phil, who screams and covers his face. Dan laughs as he sits down next to Phil.

"Quiff check?" Phil says to Dan, poking and prodding his hair gently.

"Clear. Curls check?" Dan says back, ruffling his slightly before loving them back into place.

"As hobbit-like as always," Phil says, giggling.

Dan deadpans. "Thanks Phil."

They make sure the room is all in order before Phil gets up and reaches towards the record button. Right before his fingers brush it, he hesitates. His hand hovers over the button before it curls into a fist. Phil bites his lip and tries to calm the internal battle inside of him. But he can't.

"I'm not ready," Phil says quietly, staring down at the floor.

Dan looks up at Phil with furrowed brows. "What do you mean?"

"I'm not ready to film the final Phil is not on fire," Phil says, a slight waver in his voice.

"Phil, we've had this planned for lots of months now," Dan says gently.

"I know.." Phil mumbles. "And I thought I would be okay, but now that we're here and about to do it..." Phil shakes his head. His hand droops to his side. Dan reaches and grabs Phil's wrist. "Phil, come sit. Let's talk," he says, pulling Phil's arm gently. Phil walks the few steps and slowly sits next to Dan, staring down at the one hand in his lap. The other is being rubbed comfortingly by Dan.

"Now," Dan says gently and patiently, "what's wrong?"

Phil sighs. "I-I'm not really sure.. I've had months and months to think about this and get used to the idea, but I still feel like it's an impossible thing. Like I can't believe it's actually the last one." He sighs again, eyes still looking down at his lap. "When we first met, Dan, the first Phil is not on fire was made. It was a symbol of our friendship, one that has grown and grown, and that single video has brought millions together. Millions." He finally looks up into Dan's eyes, eyes red rimmed and teary. "And now we're ending it. With no warning, cutting off a series that has been going on for 10 years. I feel like this is cutting off a part of our friendship, Dan," Phil whispers the last sentence, blue eyes filling with tears.

Dan positions himself sitting closer to Phil. "What do you mean?" He asks, staring into Phil's eyes with compassion.

"Like, every year for the past decade we've made a video basically celebrating our friendship. And-and now we're stopping it. Does that mean our friendship isn't as special anymore, since we're ending an important tradition to celebrate it?" Phil asks, sadness behind his eyes.

Dan smiles softly at Phil. "Phil, our friendship will always be special. No matter how public we make it or if we celebrate it with a video, it'll always be special to me."

"Why?" Phil asks, eyes still shining with tears.

"As cliche as this is, it's because I'm friends with you." Dan says, chuckling softly. His own eyes are glazed with tears. "But seriously. I never imagined all those years ago I would still be friends with you still. Our friendship is special because you and me are both unique people. No two people are like us, so no other friendships is like ours. We've been friends for 10 years Phil," Dan says, placing his hand on Phil's shoulder. "I think that if we've been friends for 10 years, we're pretty much bound together."

"And what about the future?" Phil asks, the smallest of smiles on his face.

"A new chapter, Phil, with what I hope is better than anything we've done before." Dan says, smiling brightly. "It's not the end of our friendship; it's the beginning of a new chapter. One that will carry us farther towards our goals, and closer together."

Phil smiles brightly as tears spill over his eyes. He reaches and entangles Dan into a hug. Dan returns the hug, holding Phil tightly. Phil breaths in deeply, trying to get a grip on his emotions, bouncing all over the place. They pull away, and with a look at each other burst out laughing. Pure happiness rings through the room in those laughs.

"Wow, I never thought it would be this dramatic and emotional," Dan says, laughing and wiping his eyes.

Phil dabs at his with a sleeve, chuckling. "Yeah, my bad, I caused this," he says, gesturing at his and Dan's teary faces. Dan only smiles back good naturedly.

"Oh whatever, it wouldn't be a Dan and Phil video without some kind of drama," Dan says.

They clear their appearances to be normal and not looking like they just left a funeral. Finally, when they're ready to start filming, Phil breaths in deeply, closing his eyes.

"Ready?" Dan asks, voice excited.

"Wait," Phil says. He gives Dan a quick hug. "There, now I'm ready." He stands up and walks over to the camera. Dan smiles up at him. "You're such an emotional person Phil, can't even go a minute without giving someone a hug."

Phil giggles. "Are you ready?" He asks, finger over the record button.

"I'm ready," Dan replies firmly.

I have mixed emotions about all this change. I know its for the better, but I'm already nostalgic for Pinof and it hasn't even been that long since they said it was the last one.
