Part One - Chapter Four: Preparing for the Date

Alexa couldn't keep the smile off her face as she returned home from the match with her family, her brothers closely at her side asking her about what Hugo had wanted.

Martha looked at her sons annoyed as Alexa got a bottle of water from the fridge, she could already sense that her mother was in a bad mood and she would be the main target of what was to come.

"What did Alexandria do now?" Martha asked looking at her daughter as she sipped on her bottle of water; Ryan grinned as he looked at his mother, he knew this would annoy her more than anything.

"Cristiano Ronaldo dedicated a goal to her and then blew her a kiss," Ryan said still excited making Martha look at him horrified at what she had heard; her expression only worsened when David piped in with more news.

"Then his brother came and spoke to her after the match... apparently Cristiano and Alex know each other," David said excitedly. Martha looked at her daughter; she couldn't believe that the blonde was stealing Jennifer's thunder for the wedding by pulling this stunt.

"I meet him once... I didn't expect him to remember me," Alexa said shrugging, her brothers both stared at her as if she was nuts.

"You meet Cristiano Ronaldo and didn't tell us?" Ryan said staring at her as Jennifer walked in and stopped what she was doing.

"I went for a jog one morning and bumped into him at the local shop... he gave me a lift home when it started to rain," Alexa said while her brothers both stared at her torn between amazement and surprise.

"So what did Hugo ask you?" Elizabeth asked, as she started to prepare to make dinner since it was getting late and she had eight mouths to feed.

"Cristiano wants to take me out for dinner tonight," Alexa said making them all stare at her dumbfounded; Jennifer gapped at her sister, while Martha stared at her and shook her head.

"And you said no... I mean what would Dixon think?" Martha said making Alexa look at her mother, she hated that her mother never seemed to listen to her.

"Whatever he wants he's with Laura now," Alexa said making Martha frown at her words, she didn't like how things were turning out for her youngest.

Elizabeth smiled, she was glad to see that Alexa still had some fire in her; she deserved to have a date and she was sure that Cristiano would treat her well. "

Are you going?" Elizabeth asked Alexa but before the blonde could reply, Jennifer snorted sure that her sister was making all of this up. There was no way that some famous footballer had asked her plain Jane sister out on a date; it just wasn't happening.

"Of course she isn't," Jennifer said for her, Martha smiled at her eldest daughter as Alexa shook her head nervously making her frown again; she was furious that she was trying to steal the limelight.

"Actually I said yes... he's coming at seven to pick me up," Alexa said glancing at the clock on the kitchen wall that read five o'clock.

Elizabeth beamed as she gave her granddaughter a hug before she shooed her upstairs to get ready; there was so much to do and so little time.

"Go have a bath," Elizabeth said making Martha crossed her arms clearly not impressed; they were here for Jennifer's wedding and no one seemed to remember that.

"Right boys order pizza," Elizabeth said taking some money out of her purse and handing it to Steven before she followed after Alexa; she was determined to help her granddaughter look her best for her big date.

Martha looked at her husband confused as his father called the local pizza place, she couldn't understand why anyone was so excited about this; Alexa was nothing special compared to Jennifer.
