You Belong with Me

Part Two - Chapter Nine: Welcome to the World

Alexa groaned at the sound of Cristiano's mobile rang through their hotel room, she glancing over at her fiancé as he rolled over away from her to reach the phone.

"Olá?" Cristiano said tiredly answering his mobile with a yawn, Alexa rested her head back against the pillow watching him confused why people would be calling this early in the morning.

Cristiano was due to leave for the world cup in a few days' time and Alexa wasn't sure, what was going to happen when he left; she had a feeling that she was going to miss him.

"Now... yes, yes I'll be right there," Cristiano said sitting up making Alexa look at him worried, he sighed and looked at his fiancée, who watched him intently as he ended the call and ran a stressed hand through his hair.

"Heather's water broke," Cristiano said making Alexa sit up and look at him as he started to get dressed, the blonde sighed as she watched him; she hadn't expected this to happen so soon.

Alexa climbed out of bed and started to get dressed, pulling on a cream sleeveless woven top and dark wash skinny jeans; the blonde rolled her eyes as she slipped on a pair of grey scalloped heel court shoes.

Cristiano stood trying to get his head through the right arm-hole, Alexa laughed softly as she moved to help him; it had surprised her that she had managed to get dressed quicker than him for once.

Cristiano looked at her gratefully as he moved to pull on a pair of shoes, Alexa pulled on her beige colour block cardigan before she ran a brush quickly through her hair.

Cristiano watched her, he wasn't sure how he felt about her coming with him to the hospital; he didn't want her to be uncomfortable.

"You don't have to come nena..." Cristiano said softly making Alexa roll her eyes, she was aware that he was concerned about how today would go, especially now that his son was coming into the world.

Cristiano took a deep breath as he retried to tie his shoelaces, he was nervous and he didn't know what he was going to do to make sure that he was prepared for the birth of his little boy.

"I don't mind... besides, you seem to be having problems with the simplest of things right now," Alexa said teasing him, Cristiano glared at her playfully, he knew that she was trying to help him and he really appreciated that.

Alexa rolled her eyes as she wrapped her arms around him, she would do anything for Cristiano even if it meant sitting in the hospital for him for hour.

"Come on," Alexa said linking her fingers with his, Cristiano smiled at her, he truly didn't know what to do without her.

Alexa smiled gratefully at Katia as she handed her a cup of coffee, she sipped on it carefully pulling a face at the horrible taste; she hadn't seen her fiancé since they had arrived at the hospital and he had rushed away.

"You okay?" Katia asked watching her future sister-in-law, she might not have liked Alexa in the beginning but it was clear that she truly loved her brother and not his money.

"I'm fine... I'm not the one bringing a baby into the world," Alexa said softly trying not to sound bitter about what was happening; Katia nodded her head, she would kill Heather if she destroyed the best thing that had ever happened to Cristiano.

They sat in silence in the waiting room of the maternity ward, Alexa swallowed trying to shake the thoughts that swam around her head; she couldn't think like that.

"After today... Heather won't be a problem anymore," Katia said trying to reassure Alexa, she could sense that something was bothering her and wanted to try and cheer her up.
