Part Two - Chapter Twenty-One: The Rescue

David sat quietly in his car watching the house across the road from him, he knew that he was taking a big risk by coming here but he needed to make things right.

Joseph was determined to get his money and while he hadn’t laid a hand on Alexa yet, he was starting to get frustrated.

David was the reason that she was in this mess and that was why he was now sat outside of Cristiano’s home in Vilamoura trying to build up his courage to knock on the door.

David wasn’t sure how he would approach Cristiano with the news that he wanted to help him get Alexa back; let alone the fact that he had been involved not only in her rape but her abduction.

There was no doubt in David’s mind that the footballer would have seen the CCTV and with one look at him it would be clear that he was the man that had abducted her.

However David couldn’t go through with Joseph’s plan, he couldn’t blackmail Cristiano out of $50 million for the fiancée that he would never see again.

Joseph liked the idea of keeping Alexa, he liked the idea of hurting Cristiano while he walked away with Alexa and the money.

Shifting David watched the house for another moment, shaking his head and he climbed out of the car and moved towards the gate.

Pushing the buzzer, David swallowed as he heard the voice of a woman asking who it was; he knew there was no going back, he was doing the right thing and he would take any punishment that he got.

“Olá … erm I have some information about the abduction,” David said nervously, he bit his lip as he heard whispering on the other end of the line; he had no idea what to expect but he felt sick knowing that he was in a lot of trouble.

David waited for a moment before he was buzzed into through the gate; he slowly made his way to the door where Katia let him into the house.

Katia frowned recognising the man at the door as she let him inside, she knew him anywhere and she couldn’t believe that he had come to the house.

David peeked around the hallway nervously while Katia closed the door, it was that moment that Cristiano appeared and slammed David into the way.

David swallowed panicked as the footballer easily pinned him to the wall by his throat, he had expected this and he was sure that he deserved worse for what he had done.

“Where is she?” Cristiano snarled holding David against the wall, he didn’t know why he had come here but Alexa wasn’t with him and he wanted answers.

Katia stood back and watched her brother while Hugo glared at the man that had taken Alexa; they didn’t know why he had come here but the police were on the way.

Elma had called them as soon as Katia had buzzed David into their home, they had known he was watching the house and it had taken a lot to stop Cristiano going out to the car.

“I’m sorry okay… I didn’t mean for this to happen,” David sobbed breaking down, he knew that what he had done was unforgiveable; he wished that he could change everything that had happened, he wished he had never meet Joseph.

Cristiano however didn’t let up, he knew that this man held the key to getting Alexa back and he wasn’t going to let this man get away with this.

“I’ll only ask you one more time… where is she?” Cristiano snarled starting to choke David to get what he wanted; David spluttered as he tried to get Cristiano to release him.

“I came here to help…” David said making Cristiano glare at him as Hugo pulled him away, this could be their chance at getting Alexa home safely.
