An hour later, Esther wakes me up when its time for me to get off the bus. At least I got a nap out of that ride.

"Cmon. Its time for you to get off," She says.

"I don't need you drooling and snoring on me any longer".

"Okay," I chuckle.

"Sorry if your shoulder is a good pillow".

Then she chuckles and flashes me a look of annoyance.

"See you guys on Monday" I say.

    "See ya" Esther replies.

"I'll text you later" River says.

I just nod. Esther, why did you have to say yes?

I get off the bus to see my mom waiting for me at the front door.

"How was your day, Isaac?" She asks while giving me a hug.

"Yeah, it was alright," I reply.

"A new kid came to our school today. His name is River".

"Interesting. Did you talk to him?" She asks.

"We showed him around. Me, Esther, and Eli," I say.

"I have my first 3 classes with him and he gave all of us his phone number so we can text".

   "Well, that's nice," She says.

"It's good to see you make new friends".

We both smile and go inside.

We both sit at the kitchen table together. I think I already know what she is going to say.

"So, tell me some more about your day" She says.

   Yep. 100% called it.

"Well, for starters, my math teacher finally arrived today" I start off.

"Well that's good. What is she like?" She asks.

"Her name is Ms. Gardner. She seems pretty nice. But their is something different about her" I say, trying not to make it sound like a bad thing.

"And what is that?" She asks.

   "She is deaf" I say.

   "Oh... wow" she says.

    "She must be very brave".

  "That's exactly what I thought," I reply.

"I already like her because of that. And it hasn't even been a day".

    I do. I really do.

"Well I am glad you do. You've always loved and respected your teachers. I never thought you would think differently of any one," mom says.

"Maybe you should sign up for that sign language club at your school".

"What sign language club?" I ask.

"I heard about it on your school website. I think one of the guidance counselors is in charge of the club" mom says.

"When does is start up?" I ask.
