Having an adopted older brother had to be the best thing that had ever happenned after your mother passed away and your father, Rosinante, went into depression.
Death took your father's smile along with her... He was not the same positive clumsy clown you loved, he was cold, too cold, a shell of a man and too focused on his work as a police officer to notice how much it had affected you...
Until one day school called because your grades went down, along with your social activity.
Your father knew he couldn't always be there for you so he decided to get you a three year older brother, Trafalgar D. Water Law, or Traffy as everyone called to his dismay.
Traffy appeared to be a distant cold hearted hot headed worldwide smart ass emo, who easily got annoyed at everything and anything, even mere objects.
That changed the day you came home crying because some girls bullied you, making fun of your deceased mother and zombie of a father.
Apparently Traffy didn't like it as he too shared the pain of losing loved ones, as you came to know later... He made sure they regreted it and apologized to you the day after, which you shamelessly loved!
From then on your relationship with him grew and you two became more than step-brother and step-sister, you became best friends, always together, protecting each other from bullies and the lonelyness that hunted you in those dark days...
You'd even bust each other out of class claiming family emergencies, prank the jocks and cheerleaders for all their bullying, set up your dad, Corazon as Law liked to call, with multiple women on online dating websites without him knowing... You were the couple people either loved seeing together or were terrified of!
In a blink of an eye years went by and both of you grew fond of each other quick, too quick, too deep... Deeper than your family status allowed... But both were too shy to confess...
Perhaps it wasn't just shyness but the fact that you both loved to tease and play games. Perhaps you both had realised each other's feelings and just didn't want to admit it or you just enjoyed a good chase...
