Sorry I took so long ): I was on vacation w/ my cousins.

I cried while writing this chapter. OMG. I hate the part where Jiraiya dies in the anime, it’s so sad. I cry every time.

Naruko’s POV

They expected me to kill my sensei. Sure, they don’t know he was my sensei, but really. I can’t just kill him.

“Is that so? Jiraiya-sensei?” Pein asked, making my eyes widen. Sensei?!

“Excuse me, but… Sensei?! Jiraiya taught you?” I narrowed my eyes. Pein turned to me, and nodded.

I don’t understand why he wants to kill him. I thought bitterly. “What should we do, Pein?” Konan asked. “In any case, he’s not our ally, right? We kill him.” He replied. I scowled.

“I hold no feelings for him.” Pein said simply. This pissed me off beyond belief, but I said nothing, for I couldn’t. “Lead us to him.” He ordered. “Understood.” Konan replied.

Pein and I jumped away, following one of Konan’s paper creations. Soon enough, we arrived at the scene where Konan was being scolded by Jiraiya. I felt a pang in my chest, but hid it with a blank expression.

My Akatsuki cloak flowed behind me as I stood behind to Pein. “Why the Akatsuki?! Their way of doing things is wrong!” I hear Jiraiya yell.

“That is your opinion, Jiraiya-sensei.” Pein said.

Jiraiya hadn’t noticed me yet, because I stood a few feet behind Pein. “Your appearance changed a great deal, but those eyes…” Jiraiya trailed off. “So you were Pein after all, Nagato! It would seem you didn’t grow up the right way. What happened?” He asked.

“You don’t need to know. You’re an outsider, after all.” Pein answered.

“You’ve changed, Nagato!” Jiraiya exclaimed. I might as well reveal myself now. I took a deep breath, and stepped forward, my face a void of emotion. “He’s not the only one who has changed, Jiraiya-sensei.” I stated, staring him down. I held back the tears, for that would ruin the façade it took me so long to build.

“Naruko-chan?!” He exclaimed, his eyes wide. I stared at him as a silent answer. “Naruko, the Akatsuki isn’t a suitable path for you.” He tried to reason, but I shook my head.

“I’m sorry, sensei.” I said, giving him a look. With that glance, Jiraiya knew I didn’t want to do this. He gave me a sad look, but nodded, which Pein thankfully didn’t notice.

“Kuchiyose no jutsu!” Pein yelled, summoning a giant crab. It spewed white foam, flooding the area. Jiraiya jumped up onto the wall, avoiding the foam. Konan floated back towards us, to stand beside me. Pein controlled the crab, having it fight Jiraiya.
