❝she's one of us❞
Cassandra, Connor and Dean all walk in a line through the woods, heading East. Cassandra was taking in all of the beautiful plants and animals that lived around the forest, noticing a few of the glowing butterflies following her.
"There it is," Dean grins as they reach a beautiful lagoon. The surroundings were all healthy green and the lagoon was filled with piercing, aqua-blue water. "This is where we're going to practice."
"Awesome," Cassandra says in awe, walking down to the lagoon with a smile on her face. A few butterflies were hesitant to follow her but they did it nonetheless, as though they were sired to her.
"Control is the power to influence or direct people's behaviour or the course of events," Dean says after a few moments of Cassandra ogling at the beautiful lagoon. "You're going to be controlling five different elements in these next few weeks. It isn't going to be easy, you're gonna want to give up, but you can't."
"Amazing," Connor says quietly, impressed by Dean's speech.
Dean rolls his eyes at the boy before turning to Cassandra, seeing her play with the butterflies. Connor lets out a slow, content sigh as he hears her laugh.
"Cassandra," Dean calls for the girl and she turns and faces the two boys. "Watch Connor show you some simple movements that you can learn."
Connor scoffs at the word simple, just because he loves showing off the way he can control the way the water moves. He sits down next to Cassandra as she tries to focus on anything but the blue butterflies.
It's only when his piercing blue eyes turn more immensely aqua and his veins turn from a faint, dark blue to a prominent, bright blue and she was amazing.
Droplets of water seemed to appear from the end of his finger tips as though the water was running through his veins and that's what was coming off of him. He smiled as he balanced a single water droplet between his index finger and thumb.
"Woah."
"It's all about imagining what you want to do," Connor clenches his first together, causing the water to disappear. "If you can imagine what you want, you can do anything with your powers."
He opens his fists again, letting water gush out and fall into the lagoon. She was so mesmerised by what he was doing that she didn't realise that the butterflies had all sat on the rock next to her, watching what she was doing, too.
"You try," Dean suggests. "Close your eyes and imagine the feeling of water running down your skin like you're in the shower."
Cassandra lets out a deep breath, imagining what it felt like when the water ran down her back, over her skin. She felt adrenaline making her heart go faster as she tried her best to concentrate on the feeling of water passing through her veins and leaving through her fingers.
