❝still a piece of shit❞
She tucks her loose, white shirt into her trousers, throwing her hair into a simple messy bun. She didn't feel the need to impress Connor because, just as she had said to Brad, she didn't see this as a date.
"You ready?" Connor asks, poking his head through the door and she turns to see him with a small smile on her face.
After Brad had told her she wasn't to go, she wanted to go even more just to spite him. Neither of them really knew what had gotten into him to be so possessive over her all of a sudden.
Brad was pacing around his room, realising that he shouldn't have acted like that around Cassandra. He shouldn't have been jealous. They were friends. He didn't like her like that. He didn't like her like that. He couldn't.
He grabs on to his door handle, opening it up to see Connor in some black trousers and a white shirt on. He was stood inside Cassandra's doorway and Brad felt his fists clench.
Control yourself, Brad reminded himself.
"Let me grab my jacket," Cassandra says, reaching behind her door where a few jackets were. She picks up Brad's green Harrington jacket and purses her lips, about to put it back but shrugs and puts it over her shoulders anyway.
"Ready now?"
"Yeah, lets go," she smiles, walking over to Connor and letting the boy go out first before she shut the door. Brad stands in his doorway and he noticed his jacket instantly but didn't say anything.
They look at each other for a second, before she follows Connor and walks down the hall. He lets out a sigh, annoyed at himself for not saying anything.
He could feel himself getting more annoyed and angry and goes down to the basement to let off some steam. He threw punch after punch after punch at the punching bag, until it fell down and it's contents spilt everywhere. Sweat built up around his forehead as he puts a new one on and punches more and more.
I don't like her. Punch
He rubs some sweat off his forehead. I can'tlike her. She's a friend. Punch. Punch. Punch. She doesn't deserve someone like me, anyway.
The punching bag splits. He replaces it. He punched harder as he thought about how Cassandra was out with Connor, instead of here with Brad, training.
Cassandra looked out of the car window, humming to the tune of the song playing through the radio. The sky had darkened even though its midday and it looked like it could rain soon.
"You alright?" Connor asks, glancing over to the girl and she puts on a faux smile, nodding. He noticed how distant she felt, as though she was thinking about something more important. "We're almost there."
