Chapter 04

I woke up in the morning feeling exhausted and sore from the back.

Darren just did me once and I already felt this way. He calmly sleeps next to me. Up this close, he has a perfect facial structure. How can a man be this physically perfect has a terrible personality? I sighed. Quietly climb out the bed and head to the shower.

At first, I turn on the warm water to clean my body thoroughly, also help to ease the soreness. The most annoying part after having sex is that I need to clean up the leftover sticky semen inside. I don't enjoy that. After making sure I clean all my body, I switch the water so now, it pours the cold one.

I need it to think calmly.

I know that I couldn't do anything about my current situation until I know what I can do next. Caden didn't have any knowledge and competence to contribute to anything. Can't really blame him as his family always makes sure that he stayed quietly at home. Probably, his father just thinks of him as a backup to be used as the last resort. Well, yeah, that's why Caden attempted suicide as the only way to get out of his misery.

Ugh, this life sucks. Too many things to be fixed if I want to stay. But... I can't lose the opportunity to explore this strange new world. If I decided to end my life again, and I can make sure this time won't fail, who knows when I'll be able to return to this world. I need to gain more knowledge and grasp the situation here. Exploring the local and surrounding areas might help. After that, I just need to wait for the right time to run away and restart my life without this stupid drama. Besides... every world has some supernatural power that I can utilize if anything happens.

I turned off the shower, stepped out of the shower, then dried myself up before putting on clothes. I need to organize my thoughts well. The old me's thoughts need to be pushed back as I feel it won't do any good if I linger on it. After finishing everything, I came out of the bathroom.

I couldn't find Darren on the bed when I came back. Did I take a bath that long? Still, I feel relieved that he's not here because I don't know how to act in front of him. Even when our status is a married couple, he clearly didn't even like me a bit. Well, he probably just think of me as his sex slave that he can't toss around. Not that it matters to me though. I really needed to stuff my head before he actually decided to throw me out.

"Excuse me, Sir Caden. I bring your lunch," a man greets me. He entered the room with food. He put all the food on the table. "Thank you... erm, I'm sorry I forgot, what's your name again?" I asked him. "Called me Harry, Sir. Ah, and I never told you my name, so you don't have anything to apologize, Sir," said Harry. I nodded.

"Also, I'm appointed as your personal butler, so please ask me for any inconvenience," Harry said. I nodded again. It's so common to have one or two personal servants when you live in nobility. "Well then, I may excuse myse-"

"Harry!" I interrupted. "Yes, Sir," he replied immediately. "Do you know any open space around?" I asked. "Open space?" he asked back. "Yeah, like garden... or training ground?" I said unsure. "Where there won't be many people," I added.

He stays silent for a while, thinking. "We have a training facility for soldiers and guards here to practice, but there would be a lot of people. I think you should ask for Master Darren's permission if you want to take his private training area. The back garden is open and quiet enough, but people would still come or pass by," he said. I sighed, already predicted it but still disappointed. I know it would be hard to practice my powers in secret, while I need a wide-open arena to do so.

"But... I know a secluded open ground inside the forest nearby," he added. I didn't even try to hide my excitement. "Bring me there!" I say immediately. He looks unsure, kinda nervous. "Well, I can after I finish a few of my works today, but... Are you sure it's okay, Sir?" he asked. "And why did you ask that?" I raise my eyebrow. "Errm, I mean... Don't you need Master Darren's permission to go out?" Harry added. "It's okay, I already got permission," I said.

I recall Caden's earliest memory in this place. After that fearful first night with Darren, he told me I can do whatever I want here as long as I don't run away and always available when needed. "Well, I don't see why not then. I'll finish some work first, then bring you there," he said. I nodded and smiled, feeling excited to finally breathe some fresh air.
