Chapter 25

I follow Yuuri without hesitation. Harry just follow me in silent while Leo countlessly asked me to stop.

We enter a dense neighborhood in a small alley. As we walk further into it I know that we have already arrived in this city's slum. I recognized the first neighborhood as I sometimes passed by it, but never think that it would hide this slum. There are so many similar neighbors like that around the main alley.

Yuuri walk fast without hesitation. I follow closely behind while trying to memorize every turn we took. Even Though the environment was so seedy, I got interested in several stores and people around. We enter further deep and my ordinary clothe looks expensive compared to what people wear here. As we walk in a winding road, Yuuri suddenly turns into an even smaller alley. Before I could enter to follow him, a hand stop me.

"Caden! Are you nuts? You can't go there!" Leo hand's preventing me to go.

"It's the red district, the place where Omegas are whoring themselves," Harry explained in low while looking around making sure no one listens to him.

I raise my eyebrow, questioning their explanation. I still haven't found the danger of stepping into a red light district. "The smells of their pheromones are so thick here. I can smell it since a while ago," Harry further explained.

Ah! The infamous Omega's pheromone. The smell they extract from their heat. I read the smell can make you lose your control and submit to your sexual desire, even for Betas. It could affect us if we are close enough with the Omega who emits it.

Fortunately unfortunate, I can not smell what everyone had been talking about, which just intrigues me even more. "You can wait here or come with me. I won't wait for you," I said brushing Leo's hand and follow Yuuri further into the district.

I sense Harry and Leo flinch when Yuuri opens the door of the run-down apartment. They look like they are having a hard time to breathe and tremble a bit. "Caden... I can't go inside," Harry said walking away from the building. "What's wrong?" I asked, worrying about their well being. They look a little bit uncomfortable the moment we enter this alley. I feel a little guilty as I know they follow me because they had to.

"Can't you smell it?" Leo's turned to ask. "There's an Omega in heat inside, but this one is different. The scent is too strong. Can't you smell it?" he asked me again. This further assures me that this heat things don't affect me at all. "You guys wait here. I'll check inside," I said. "Wait! You can't!" Harry shouted out at me. "You know I can defend myself if things go south," I said, assuring them, "...and I don't smell a thing."

Yuuri immediately go to the floor above. He stopped in front of a brown door, waiting for me. When I finally catch up with him, he opened the door. It unveils a small studio size room. Yuuri goes inside, kneeling beside a single size bed.

There, lay a young woman looks in pain. Her body is reddish and she looks feverish. Even I, who never saw an Omega in heat, knew that she is in heat. She wriggled in her bed, searching for anything that could satisfy her needs.

"What happened?" I asked. "This is my sister, Juri. A customer made her consume a drug, and she had been like this for several days. I already gave her suppressant but it doesn't work well," Yuuri answered in a tiny sob. "Where is her medicine?" I asked. I know there is a special medicine to suppress Omega in heat. "I already gave her all of our supply," Yuuri told me, holding her sister's hand. I pick the crumpled white paper bag in the table and pull out a run-out tablet strip. Looking at the packaging, I know this is a low-quality medicine. I am not even sure if this is real or not.

"Yuuri, go get a new medicine with Harry," I said to him, "and make sure you pick the good one." Yuuri seems nervous hearing me. "But.. my sister.."

"I will look after her. I promise," I ensure him. He still looks hesitant at first but seeing her sister in pain he finally nodded and agreed.

He left out from the room, leaving both of us alone.

After Yuuri left and make sure no one inside, I approach the bed. I don't know much about this world's sexual biology nor the compound of the heat suppressant. I don't know how this world heat system works. If I know better, I probably can create a better medicine in this instance. Still, I know an alternative that can lessen the drug's effect. I seldom perform healing power to anyone. Not in this world nor the previous ones. As it would disrupt the world's medical knowledge and defy its logic. I prefer to give a proper alternative accordingly, but I know this is a rare case of exception.

I hold her hand and concentrating. Warmth surrounds our connecting hands. I concentrate hard to dissolve the unwanted substance in her body. My body feels hotter and I start to sweat. I don't know how long it has been but I don't stop before she looks better. After a while, I can feel her heartbeat is starting to stabilize. Her breath also starting to normalize. I let her hand go.

The air suddenly felt cold and my body shivers. I know it is just the effect of using power in this world but it felt so much worse than the first time I did it. She still looks in pain but I know it's just a matter of time before she is completely fine.

"Here's the medicine!" Yuuri suddenly barked into the room. I create a room for him to tend to his sister. Instead of making her drink medicine pills, he injects her with something. I think it's a better and faster treatment. Before long, Juri looks a lot better. Her body temperature drop, her shiver stops, and her skin color comebacks normal. "It works! She's getting better!" Yuuri said in excitement.

It's good to hear that but my headache started to get worse. "Yuuri, it is getting late. I need to go back," I said to him with a smile. "Go to Nana's clinic for further check. Tell her I'll bear the medical expense."

After making sure everything is going to be alright, I leave the room. Yuuri saying countless thanks to me. He promises to repay me in any kind of way in the future. I countlessly saying it's okay. He gave me a last deep bow when I step out of the building and come back to the alley.

The sky is getting dark and I didn't see Leo nor Harry here. I backtrack the path to get out of here. I notice several people are standing in the alley. Looks like working hour is near.

Harry and Leo finally being sighted at the entrance of the red light district. "Caden!" Harry called me when he sees me. "It's getting dark and the business here is starting. The scents are too strong. We need to leave before it affects us. Are you okay?" He talks non stop. "Here, change to this. You reek of Omegas scent," Harry said handing me a new jacket. "Let's get out of here, people start to notice our presence," Leo said and guide us out. 

"Do you always go there in your 'walk'?" Leo asked even though he also witnessed that it's my first time there. "No," I said while getting dressed. Harry insist that I need to take a bath immediately to get rid of the smells. I let him help me as I was too tired and don't know whether the smell have gone or not. "Will Master Darren know?" Leo continue to ask. "No, if you don't tell him," Harry answered. "And by doing so, perhaps you help keep a little peace in this mansion!" He raised his tone in annoyance. This is probably the closest angry look I ever see in Harry's face. "Let's go to bed, Caden. You look pale since we get back," Harry said. "Well of course. No one would be fine after inhaling that amount of pheromones," Leo murmured but immediately shut by Harry's intense glare. Leo then walk himself out.

Maybe these assumptions are perfect scenario thought. Yuuri thought the good quality medicine is helping his sister, while Harry and Leo thought I got sick because inhaling the scents. Let me keep my secret longer.
