"As someone who's been living for so long, you didn't make yourself well hidden this time," the voice of the man in front of me brought me back to reality. My mind just walked down to one of Caden's old memories line that feels like forever.
Albert. Albert Reed.
The man who's now looking at me is Caden's second oldest brother. My head was throbbing from recalling childhood memories. I remember he was the nicest sibling amongst Reed children. He's nice to everyone, from his siblings from different mothers to a mere servant.
I remember our interaction when we were young in between his class. Being the second oldest and me the second youngest, our age gap was quite big, but he always made sure to have time visiting and caring for his younger siblings. Other than that, my memories of Albert was him studying and helping our eldest brother and father. Caden admires him so much.
While our eldest brother ended up as the heir of Reed's house and started managing our fief, Albert grew up helping our father manage the family business. He's the one who made our business even more prosperous and lifted our family reputations amongst the Southern Nobles.
I remember him being the smartest and wisest one. Well, if only I knew.
"What did you just remember?" he asked, knowing exactly why I didn't speak for so long. "Me as Albert, or me as Kean?"
"The first one," I replied briefly, I didn't feel any needs to lie.
"Hmm... yeah, that's probably the case," he said. Kean stood up, he walked and sat down at the only table on the side of the room. I didn't realize it was there all the time. He gave a sign and the men came at me, picked me up, and dragged me to sit on the other chair.
While being so, my hand and foot were still tied. Those men also now add a layer of rope tighten me to the chair. Just then, I realized my body was covered in bruises and cuts.
"Leave," he instructed.
"He's dangerous," one of the men informed him.
"I can manage," he said.
Those two, seemingly, don't want to get into trouble only nod and leave us.
"Sorry for all the inconvenience, but let's have a chat little brother... or should I call you, Rene."
"What do you want, Kean?" I asked him, feeling annoyed with his presence. He really is an unknown variable I never expect and I hate for not considering his existence in the first place.
"First of all... call me 'big brother' like you always do," he smiled.
I look at him dumbfounded. Really? I know Kean always has this carefree attitude towards anything that often feels out of the place of how the situation was going on. The most stubborn and rebellious, I would say.
"Ah, come on Caden. Call me 'big brother Al' with your adorable face like you used to!" he insisted.
"So, we're now Caden and Albert? I don't think Al would do these to his siblings," I argue while rolling my eyes.
Kean showed a thinking look upon my reply. "Well, true."
I gave a long sighed. I wish Erica was here so someone could handle his little game.
"Again, what do you want Kean? You took too much effort just to meet me. Can we meet normally next time?"
"It's fun, right? Come on, Rene, don't be too stiff!"
Erica, I need you! I scream in despair. We will never go anywhere if he keeps acting like this.
"Okay, let me change my question. Since when do you have your memories?"
