Eight Years Ago

"I thought you were together again." Hoon frowns, watching me pace up and down the length of my bed.

"Yeah, well he can suck it!" I growl.

"But you love him..." Hoon sighs, clearly done with my drama.

"Loved. Past tense!" I glare.

"I'm sure... Just like the last three times..." He shakes his head, opening his textbook and continuing the homework my ex-boyfriend had set us.

I throw a pillow at his head and he laughs.

"I'm sorry! Just... You two always get back together so what's even the point of breaking up?" He shrugs.

"I don't know... Ask him..." I slump onto my bed, legs curling up to bring my knees to my chest.

"It was him again?" Hoon looks up now.

"Yeah... I-... He keeps trying to kiss me again. Even though we were almost caught last term! He says that clearly I don't love him anymore so I'm better off without him. As if I'd stop him from kissing me with those fucking lips if I didn't give a shit! If I didn't love him, then I would have just fucked him and not cared about anyone finding out!"

"So you do still love him?" Hoon smirks slightly.

"Well, of course I do... It's Hobi..." I blush and then groan, covering my face with my hands and collapsing onto my mattress.

"Kai... Can I be honest?" He sighs, books now put aside and full attention on me.

"Always, you're my best friend." I sit up, listening intently.

"Right now, he doesn't have the right to use that as an excuse. He asked you to pretend you don't love him two years ago, so saying it's not fair that you now don't is ridiculous, especially when you so clearly do! You need to talk about it." Hoon crosses his legs and rests his chin on his palms.

"What?" I blink, not understanding.

"You never stopped arguing about it! You never get to a conclusion, you just fuck and make up and pretend it never happened! You want to love him but he doesn't want to admit his feelings. It's an endless cycle! Finish the conversation and come up with a compromise. That's what I suggest." He shrugs, picking up the textbook once more.

"Sir, why are you registering us again?" An Ollox first year asks innocently.

"Because Mr Cartwell has family matters to deal with and I'm the only teacher free right now." Hoseok explains. I mean, Mr Jung explains. My jaw clenches and Hoon groans as I take a very long time to pack away my things.

"Hurry up, I want to play another game of Magick & Menace before bed!" He pulls at my sleeve.

"And I want Mr Jung to give up and just sign me in without talking to me again." I look at Hoon pointedly.

"Sir, will you be staying in Ollox again tonight?" The boy's friend asks equally as innocently. We weren't that small when we started at Pharaway, were we?

"Of course, Benji, it's the rules. A teacher needs to be on the premises at all times." Hobi- Fuck! Mr fucking Jung ruffles the kid's hair.

"Is it true your the age of a student?" A girl with much too low-cut a top leans in slightly as she points at her name.
