Dallas Winston:

"Baby, what are you doing?" Dallas asked with confusion, climbing through your open window.

You snapped your book shut, nearly jumping out of your skin at the sudden voice.

"Geez, Dal! Don't scare me like that!" You said, punching him in the arm.

"Sorry, kid," he laughed, shaking out his shoulder in fake pain, "but seriously, what's up?"

"I'm tryin' to read. Ponyboy gave me this book and it's damn good." You explained, reopening the story and flipping through the pages to find your spot. "Now, hush! The main character is about to get into a fight and I need to know what happens next."

This caused Dallas to chuckle as he climbed into your bed, crawling in beside you. He positioned his hands behind his head, leaning against the headboard. As you continued to read, you couldn't help but feel his eyes peering over your shoulder. Chancing a sideways glance, you saw him skimming the words, eyes also widening at the drama.

"Is there a problem?" You quipped, looking at him with a mischievous grin.

He shook his head, opening his mouth to say something, but soon closed it.

"Oh, c'mon. What were you gonna say?" You questioned, nudging his shoulder with yours.

"It ain't nothing, Y/N. Forget it." He grumbled, looking down at the sheets.

"Dally, seriously. You can tell me." You softly said as you placed a hand on his knee, now noticing his genuine apprehension.

"It's just, could you - well, could you read it to me, doll?" He timidly questioned, eyes looking up again and placing a hand on top of yours.

You smiled, leaning against his chest and wrapping his arm around you, getting yourself comfortable and snug.

"Why, 'course I can, Dallas." You said.

This is a bit different than what I usually post, but I thought of this scenario not too long ago and I just had to share it! It was too good.
