Isobel P.O.V.

When we got home from dinner, Soph and I immediately went off to gossip.

"Spill." She commanded, sitting me down. "Ollie and I both saw a half-naked Kade strutting out of your room this afternoon. AND your dress was sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor."

I laughed, widening my eyes a little. Damn I've got all the evidence stacked up against me. "Yeah... we slept together." I admitted with a small smile.

"I figured as much," she chuckled. "I'm strangely happy for you. Which room do I need to change the sheets in?"

I twirled a strand of hair around my finger sheepishly. "Both."

Her eyes widened a little. "You guys are like rabbits."

I laughed. "Sorry Soph."

"Eh don't worry about it," she shrugged. "As long as my couches and kitchen are safe."

"They are!" I reassured her. "I promise."

"Okay, so now what? Do you know?" She pondered, her eyes flickering over me with curiosity.

I shook my head to the side, chewing on my lip. "No... we haven't talked about it. I guess I'll just leave back to New York and yeah... see what happens. I'm just not expecting anything out of it. I don't even know if we will keep in touch."

She sighed softly. "You okay with that? I know it was hard... last time."

"Yeah I think I will be. I feel like I'm on my own terms now. Like he did suggest to me once that we could be no-strings attached, so it's probably just what it is..."

"Well I'm here for you, alright?" She gave me a small squeeze. I wrapped my arms around her as I said goodnight.

"So, before you say anything, I have to leave here at 5am in the morning at the latest. I'm catching a ride, no ifs and buts. Spend time with Ollie. I'd hate for you guys to have to wake up and take me so early when you should be in your honeymoon phase." I said sternly as we walked upstairs together.

"No, it's-"

"Uh ah!" I interrupted. "It's totally fine. Plus you know I have a thing about big goodbyes. Being at the airport would be way too dramatic."

"Okay," she sighed, wrapping an arm around me to give me a small squeeze. "And also thankyou for being so considerate of us."

"I'm not your best friend for nothing," I joked, giving her a little playful hip bump. She did one back with a smile as we got to her bedroom. I said my goodbyes to Oliver before I went back to my room. I wasn't sure when I would come back to see them again, but at least I know for certain there's always Christmas holidays to look forward to.

I spent the rest of the night packing my luggage. There wasn't too much to do since I had been keeping myself pretty organised over the few weeks, keeping the things I'd worn and no longer needed on one side, and the other with things I hadn't yet used. I collected a couple of things from the bathroom and popped them in a bag, the ziplock snapping shut as I tucked it into my suitcase. Last but not least, I grabbed my bridesmaid dress and viewed it with a tender smile. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I folded it up carefully and popped it on top before zipping up my luggages. All done. I dusted my hands off in satisfaction, before standing them up near the door, ready to go early tomorrow morning.

I knocked on Kade's door so I could spend one last night with him. At this point we had talked about everything under the sun besides our future plans with each other. Nothing. Zip. His intentions were ambiguous. I guess that spoke for itself. It was just like how it was six years ago. This time though, I was in control of the situation and myself, I was trying not to have any expectations.
