Spark (Bumblebee Love Story)

Chapter 26

Sirens start to blare from the distance, as upcoming S7 cars and helicopters drive down the creek. The humans and Autobots hears this, and everyone springs into action

"Optimus!" Ironhide yells out, "Incoming!"

With a shift in his arm, he slams his right hand that was converted into a cannon on the ground, a wave of energy emitting like a wave around the dozen people. Danielle grabs onto Sam and Mikaela's hands, holding onto them tightly. She looks over at Bumblebee, who stands still, waiting for his orders.

"Roll out" Optimus orders the team finally.

Bumblebee glances over at Danielle, seeing her stare back at him. He nods to her, before converting back to his alternate form, his Camaro form. The rest of the Autobots follow suit, converting back to their alternate forms, driving away from the scene. Optimus approaches the 3 teenagers, kneeling down in front of them.

"Up you get," Optimus encourages, holding out his giant hand for the teenagers, "We don't have much time."

It took a solid 10 seconds for the teenagers to realize his intentions, and Danielle nearly chokes on her spit.

"W-Wait...." Danielle thinks to herself, "We're gonna go on your hand!? 50 feet in the air!?"

Danielle's eyes nearly poking out of her head, noticing Mikaela letting go of her hand, stepping onto Optimus' hand, holding her hand out for both Danielle and Sam. Sam reaches and takes Mikaela's hand, following suit, leaving Danielle on the ground.

"You sure I can't just hitch a ride from like Jazz or something?" Danielle asks hesitantly, "I'm pretty sure it's not a good idea having us up 50 feet in the air-"

"Danny, come on!" Sam tells her, "Just grab our hands."

"Are you kidding me? Sam, this is just-"

"Grab our hands!" Mikaela repeats Sam's statement to Danielle.

Huffing in defeat, Danielle takes both of their outstretched hands, pulling her up on Optimus' hand. Danielle moves her grip onto both Sam and Mikaela's forearms as Optimus raises his hand up towards the junction of his neck and shoulder. Danielle moves first, nearly lunging over to one of the plates on the side of Optimus' neck, delicately grabbing onto the plating. She watches Sam and Mikaela take their spots on Optimus' shoulder, holding onto the Autobot's armor tightly.

With little to no warning, Optimus starts to walk, with 2 helicopters following behind them. The whole time Optimus tries to advert his presence. He runs down the road, trying his best to avoid stepping on oncoming pedestrian cars. Danielle grips onto Optimus' neck armor tightly, feeling her body shake as every booming step Optimus takes. Danielle looks over at Sam and Mikaela, finding them holding onto each other tightly, as well as position their body by Optimus' pipes. Danielle feels her body sway to the right, as Optimus takes a sharp turn to an alley, managing to lose the helicopter's tail.

Knowing this, Optimus carefully walks towards a bridge by the creek, taking a giant leap to the interior of the bridge, using his height to hold onto the interior pillars, holding his body up in the air, right as the helicopter approaches the 4.

"Easy, you three" Optimus carefully whispers to the 3 humans.

Danielle holds her breath, trying to keep herself closer to Optimus, her legs nearly hanging over his shoulder. Her breathing was quickened, Danielle hearing her own heartbeat pulse in her veins. Her mind was on so many things, that she did not realize with her quick breathing, the pain in her chest made it harder for her to breathe.

"G-Guys?" Danielle breathes out, "Is it getting a little dizzy for you guys?"

She doesn't give time for the other 3 to answer, as she finds her vision cloudy. Suddenly, she loses her balance and grip on Optimus, starting to slide down his shoulder. As her entire body was no longer in contact with Optimus, her vision clears up, and so does her throat.

"Sam!" Danielle shrieks in fear, finding herself airborne.

"Danny!" Sam yells back at her, lunging forward, quickly grabbing his hand into hers, holding onto it tightly, "Hold on!"

Danielle feels tears form in the corner of her eyes, her body trembling in fear, as the 2 helicopters from earlier fly underneath her, the blades 10 feet away from her hanging body.

"No, no, no, Sam! Don't drop me!" Danielle screams at her twin brother.

Sam cries out in pain, finding Danielle's weight giving stress to his arm. He leans over and grabs her arm with both of his hands, trying to redistribute the stress. Mikaela leans over, holding onto to Sam's middle, trying to keep him on Optimus Prime. Danielle huffs, trying to pull herself up on Sam, but finds her grip on Sam's sweatshirt slipping, the soft, slick fabric too hard to keep holding.

"Sam, I'm slipping! Sam! I'm slipping! I'm slipping!" Danielle cries out.

Sam tries to grab onto Danielle's flannel shirt, but it was too late. The grip between Sam and Danielle breaks. Danielle's heart drops, losing her breath. It took half a second for gravity to set in for her, and she started to fall. Danielle screams her heart out, finding the ground becoming increasingly closer. Danielle hears Optimus yell for her, but it was on her deaf ears. She notices him trying to catch her with his foot, but he was too slow to break her fall.

"Bumblebee!"
