51 • last goodbye

"Calm down Sam" Ashton said as I was pacing through the room. "You did everything that needed to be done, all artists are here and everything is ready."

"I can't just calm down." I said to him and it wasn't untill my dad came in the room, that I finally calmed. He was in a wheelchair and Jackie was pushing him around but he was here. "You made it." I softly said before going over to hug him thightly.

"I told you I would be here." He said with his soft voice.

"Luckily because she's freaking out over nothing." Ashton said and my dad laughed softly.

He looked worse every day. The treatment was really getting to him now.

"Everything looked amazing outside and there was already a long line at the entrance." Jackie said to reassure me. "It will be great."

"I hope so." I said before walking back to the table and getting the backstage passes. "There's one more for mom, can you give it to here?" I asked as I handed all three to Jackie.

"Ofcourse." She said with a smile as she handed dad his and put her own around her neck. "Just stop freaking out."

"I'm going to have to go on stage infront of 1000 people in 2 hours so yes I'm freaking out." I said and everyone just laughed at me.

"You just have to play the piano, something you've done countless times before so it will be okay." My dad said to reassure me and it wasn't working at all. Because he didn't know yet that I would be singing too.

"I'm going to check everything one more time, there's food and drinks down the hall, take whatever you want and I'll see you around." I said to my dad and Jackie. When I walked out Ashton started talking to them and I raced around the backstage area first before going outside.

Due to it being sold out so quickly and the venue having a field aswell, we have moved it outside and were able to add 300 more tickets which already got sold out too.

We had a few food and drinks stands in the back. MHCuk had a stand near the stage and all artists are inside. I had a local group opening and after that Calum Scott would play 3 songs, then Julia Michaels 3 songs, then I would sing Rise Up and lastly 5SOS would come on and play a few songs too.

Everyone had went for those songs who meant the most to them, who helped them through something and had something to do with the theme of the event.

"Hey Samantha, glad I still see you before the madness starts." The respondible of MHC said as he approached me.

"Is everything alright?" I asked him with a small smile on my face.

"I just want to thank you once again for what you are doing for us, you put so much effort in this and just the ticket sale and donations we have been getting since you announced it are more than we could have asked for. So thank you, again." He said with a warm smile and my smile grew twice as big.

"You are very welcome, this is what I'm doing it all for, to help people out. So to be able to help the organisation who kept me alive, is amazing." I replied before my phone started ringing. I quickly checked who it was and sighed when I read the contact name. "I will see you later but I got to run now."

"Ofcourse, goodluck later. We all believe in you." He said and he gave me a thumbs up when I started walking away.

"Hey Julia, is everything alright?"

"Can you come back inside quickly?" She said rushed and worried, I quickened my pace and started running to the door, I quickly got through and ran to her room.
