"I got a job!"

Amelia raised her head at the abrupt interruption. While she sat on the chair, a big fat book, open in front of her, glasses on her nose, her eyes almost popped out when she saw Jungkook stand in front of her, in the public library, waiting for her to react.

"What?" she asked.

"I said, I got a job!" he said again, this time a little louder.

Placing a finger on her lips, she shushed him.

"This is a library. Be quiet!" she near whispered. Looking around she saw several people stare at them.

"Sorry. I'm sorry," she said turning to all those who were around them, staring at the noise maker.

Jungkook hurried and sat on the chair opposite to her as she stared at his actions in disbelief.

"Jungkook this is a library. You need to be-"

"I got a job! Well, the cafe lady helped me find it, but yay!"

His twinkling eyes, excited voice, sweet cute smile and increasing level of energy was too alluring. Amelia couldn't help but bring a smile to her lips.

"Well, congratulations on finally getting a job," she said like a proud mother.

"Thank you Aami! This makes me so happy," he chuckled, and she did the same reacting to him.

"Now I can go on dates," he added and winked.

Then something unexpected happened. Her heart leapt a little.

Oh my god. What on earth? I must be crazy.

Mental image of him winking kept repeating in her head. To distract herself, she cleared her throat and said, "Wow! At this age I thought you'd be more interested in saving than spending on girls."

She had wrapped up her books and they decided to celebrate him getting a job, at the café.

"What's wrong with dating?" he asked her walking by her side.

"And what do you mean 'at this age'?" he air-quoted and hid his hands into the pockets of his hoodie.

They turned a corner and started climbing uphill. She said, "You live alone, on your own. Which means you need school fees as well. Shouldn't you be saving?"

Suddenly he stopped in his tracks and turned towards her. She blinked and waited for him to start giving his own knowledge bites.

"One should always, ALWAYS, enjoy life as it comes. It's not just about saving for future. What if you don't have a future? What if you die tonight?"

Wow. I never thought he could be so deep.

She listened to each and every word from his lips carefully.

"That's why you need to enjoy your life," he said. As he turned and walking ahead, he added, "Besides, I'm only 23. I need to date. There are so many varieties of girls out there. How can I just let them go?"

Never mind.

"Wait!" she said as she caught up to him,

"Did you say you are 23? But I am 25!"

He looked at her and asked, "So?"

As they walked, she replied, "This means that I'm older than you."

"So?" he asked again.

"But respecting our elders is very important in our culture..." she said hesitantly, feeling a little confused.

"Yeah. But you don't fall in that category," he replied not looking at her.

"Why?" she asked still confused.

He thought for a while, raised his eyebrows and said, "Just because."

He shrugged and walked ahead, leaving her all the more confused.
