Today I caught a glimpse of you
Catching a glimpse of me
And I wish I had a snapshot of your expression
Because it almost seemed like
You longed for me to be sitting
Where she is next to you
It is fading from my thoughts,
But you looked so sad as your eyes
Reached out to me
But it was over in a split second
Because we both remembered who we are now
And how our lives have branched off
On to two completely different paths
We both remembered the decision you made
To take her hand and throw me in the opposite direction
But it looks like you have gotten what's coming to you
Because your face reeks of regret
As you see how the thorny stems you threw me in
Have turned me into a beautiful rose
