They were so close that if Rome tilted his head a little, he could just touch Dan's lips with his own.
"Maybe," Dan breathed out, "Maybe, I want to be friends with you."
He put his other hand on the wall, other side of Rome's head, suddenly feeling very confident about his motives.
Rome blushed, pink in his cheeks and bright red were his ears. He could feel them burn.
He looked away. Rome could not keep his eye contact anymore. It was too much.
He thought his head would explode with all the fuzziness inside of it.
"I-I, okay." Rome squeaked out before ducking under Dan's hand and running before his rapidly beating heart popped out of his mouth.
Dan smirked watching a running-for-his-dear-life Rome.
