Thomas wrapped his arms around Zaide and rubbed his back as the younger boy buried his head in Thomas' chest.
They stood there for a while until the front door of the school opened again and Seven came out, looking furious. He went to the parking lot where his motorcycle stood alone, but not before glaring at Thomas and Zaide. Seven drove past them, rumbling.
Thomas' worry poured out. "What happened?"
"Nothing." Zaide replied as he let Thomas go and tried to compose himself before looking up at the older boy.
"Did Seven do something?" He asked as he looked for any hint of bruises.
Zaide shook his head, but as Thomas made no sign to believe him, he forced himself to say, "No."
"I knew I shouldn't have left you alone." Thomas took a deep breath to calm himself down. "Get in the car."
After he was forced to drop Zara, Thomas came back as quickly as he could and waited for Zaide.
He was relieved that Zaide was okay, at least visibly. If something had happened to Zaide, he would not be able to forgive himself.
