As Rome closed the front door of his house behind him, a car pulled up at his driveway. To his surprise, it was Dan.
The older boy got out of his car and held open the passenger side door for his boyfriend. Rome blushed, giddiness washed over him.
"What're you doing here?" He asked shyly.
"Picking up my boyfriend for school." Dan replied as Rome came to stand right in front of him.
He placed a soft kiss on Dan's cheek. "Thank you."
"Anything for you." Dan said with so much sincerity in his voice that Rome thought he was melting inside.
Before he could reply with just as much sap, he heard the rough, harsh voice of his father.
"Rome." His father called out.
Rome stiffly turned to see his parents standing on the porch, looking at them, bewildered. "Get in here for a second."
His father commanded before his parents disappeared inside. A cold dread filled his heart.
