As soon as Thomas entered the school, he was attacked by both Alisha and Rome with questions.
"Where's Zaide? Why isn't he answering our calls or any of the texts?" Rome asked, glaring at him.
"What did you do to him?" It was Alisha.
"Yeah, he never skips school. Ever!" Rome all but shouted and students around them turned to look at them.
Thomas felt embarrassed. That was what he got for giving in too easily.
"Why are you silent? Speak up, now." Alisha almost threatened.
"Tommy, bro, what happened? You okay?" Dan was concerned about his friend. He looked like he did not get a good night's sleep.
Every time Thomas opened his mouth to say something, he was forced to shut up as one or the other would interrupt him.
"If you'd let him talk, he might have." Zara, who had just arrived, deadpanned. "He was kicked out of the house yesterday."
A chorus of "What?!" was heard over the morning announcement.
