"What about Zara then?" Zaide's quiet voice made him turn around and look at him, disbelieving.
Surely, Zaide could not think he was even remotely attracted to Zara. He never said anything about her advances as she was never direct about her feelings and confrontation could make things awkward between them.
When she finally said something, or better to say, kissed him, he told her that he was not interested in her.
"What about her?" Thomas frowned which made Zaide more nervous.
"You were kissing-" Zaide was cut off as the older boy wrapped his arms around him and pulled the smaller one to his chest.
"She kissed me." Thomas said quietly but firmly as if he was talking to a kid. "I didn't even return it."
"You didn't?" Happiness bubbled up in his chest.
"How can I, when I like you?" Thomas had finally confessed his deepest secret to his crush.
"I like you too."
