As the ship lands, the Avengers move into place, weapons ready, at the drop for the ramp.
"He's here," Ana says grimly as she walks into view, her hair falling in her eyes as we walk out to meet her. "And he's a bit more than just pissed off."
"We just invaded his home, of course he's pissed," Nat points out.
As my feet touch the ground, a sense of dread floods my chest, and I'm tempted to give in, to run, but for my husband and our children's sake, I have to push forward.
Thanos wants the sun and the moon.
He can't have the sun, not my little girl.
But he can sure as fuck have the dark side of the moon.
"Ready, Captain?" Carol asks, blazing light flaring from her fists as she touches down beside Ana. "He's waiting for you."
I nod firmly, "Ready."
He took my husband.
He took our three youngest children.
He took my family, my friends, our people away from us.
It can't and won't be forgiven.
I walk forward, my shield strapped to my arm, leading the survivors up toward the trees just ahead of us.
As we breach the tree line, I spot the Mad Titan waiting for us on the other side of a crystal blue lake.
