It was a boy with jet-black hair. He was sitting with his knees drawn up to his chest, his feet in the seat. His arms were crossed in top of his knees, and he was resting his head on his arms with his face turned away from Draco, towards the window.
Draco froze. He was so shocked, for a moment, to see someone else there, that he didn't recognize the boy at the window. He was too busy wondering why someone else would be on the train so early, and why they would be all the way in the back, unless... Unless this boy, like him, was trying to get away from other people, and why would he do that, unless people payed attention to this boy too?
It all became clear, however, when the door of the compartment slammed shut behind Draco, startling him from his thoughts. Only then did he realize who the other boy was.
It was Harry Potter.
