7. Eobard Thawne

I took a deep breath and then dodged the icicles Killer Frost threw at me. Behind me Cisco tried to blast me with a vibe and I quickly turned around and froze time. Then I teleported myself next to Harry and Iris who were watching us. I exhaled the air that was in my lungs and Cisco's vibe blasted Killer Frost at the wall of the Speed lab. Killer Frost groaned when she got up and then the both of them turned to me. Iris and Harry also looked surprised at me. "Within a few weeks you have improved from not being able to live with Storm to the both of you communicating on a friendly level." Harry said and I chuckled as my hair and eyes turned back to normal. "I think she's ready for the field. What do you guys think?" Iris said and I smiled at my best friend.

I closed my eyes for a moment and when I opened them again I stepped to the side and turned around and in the next second Barry stood infront of me. I smiled up at him. "How did you do that?" Barry said in a low voice and we looked into eachother's eyes. "I suppose I knew you were coming." I whispered.

I got out of his way and he looked at the team. "Echo said something to me that we all should hear." Barry said and I sighed. Then we all walked to the pipeline where my mother was held. "You think Zoe can use her powers for good? Because I have seen and felt what these powers can do to someone who is as innocent as her! It drives her evil." I scoffed. "You think I'm innocent? I can assure you, Echo, I'm not!" My eyes felt flashed silver for a moment. "You don't know what I do. What comes in the very near future. But of course Team Flash surely knows." She spat. "Thawne." Echo and Barry said at the same time.

"Who's Thawne?" I asked as soon as we were in the cortex. "A speedster from the future. He is the one who killed Barry's mom and he is the reason the particle accelerator went off the way it did. He is responsible for all the metas around here." Cisco explained and I looked at Barry. "He- he killed your mom?" I asked and Barry nodded. "So that I become The Flash." He said and then I turned around and left the cortex for the pipeline and looked furiously at Echo.

"You're working with the man who killed Barry's mom?" I asked furiously. "It is a necessity, sweetie. To get what I want, I would do everything." She said and I scoffed. "And what do you want?" I asked. "For The Flash to die so that you can join me." She said and my eyes glowed silver. "You've lost it if you think that I'd let you kill him." I snarled. "Thawne has plans for you, too, Zoe. With your powers... our powers..." I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Is he here?" I asked slowly and Echo sighed. Then her hair and eyes changed back to normal. "Sometimes. Listen, you need to help-" Suddenly, her green eyes turned silver.

"You did it! Wow. I think I underrestimated you." Echo said. Then my eyes flashed silver, too. "You certainly did! Now leave Zoe alone! You won't get her or The Flash. I will make sure of that. And if I have to I will-" I took over again and looked down at me for a second before turning around and leaving Star Labs.

I didn't know where I was walking. But eventually I ended up at Iris' home and knocked. Joe opened the door and looked down at me with a concerned look on his face. "Hey, are you okay? Did something happen?" He asked after he let me in. I sunk on the couch. "I- My mom is- is working with Thawne." I stuttered confused and Joe sighed. "So, you know who he is." I shrugged, my eyes were on the table infront of me. "Kinda? He- he wants to kill Barry. I know that's not gonna happen but with my mom working with him I'm not sure what I can do to stop it." Joe stayed quiet. I looked up and he took a deep breath.

"Listen, kiddo. You have been doing this since a few weeks now. Barry and the others for years. They're good at what they are doing. And so are you. Thawne will not get to Barry. Or you for the matter. Now get some rest. Everything's gonna be fine. I will head to CCPD now, but I'll be back soon, okay?" I nodded and took a deep breath before I smiled. "Okay. Thank you, Joe." Joe sent me a small smile before leaving the house. I got up from the couch, sent a message to Barry that I was here and fine and then made myself a tea before heading back onto the couch.

I awoke on a cold floor and realized that that was definitely not the West house. When I got up I noticed the power dampening cuffs on my wrists and grunted before looking around. I was some sort of old building. It was dark and dirty in here. The only light that was shining came from the ceiling. It was flickering and quickly got on my nerves. I began to walk around, trying to find a way out of this while trying not to make a sound.

Suddenly, I was pushed against a wall. Red lightning surrounded a person in yellow and I grunted again. "Let me guess, Thawne?" I asked and he stopped holding me against the wall. "Clever girl." He said and took off his mask. The man sighed. "Why Barry? What do you want from him?" I asked and looked at him. "Always protecting him. Too bad you're not there when he really needs you, Zoe Black." I raised an eyebrow. "What does that mean?" I asked. "Someone once told me you were always there when he needed help. And I asked myself, if you're not there anymore who's there to help him? But of course I can't kill you because that would disrupt the timeline." He began to walk around and I smirked. "Aww... But it's good that you already know that I will be there to kick your ass when Barry needs me." I smiled and Thawne turned around to me and sped infront of me.

Then he raised his hand and it began to vibrate. So fast I barely saw it. "You would be willing to die to save him, wouldn't you?" He asked and I nodded. "That's what friends are for." I whispered. Then he began to laugh. "Friends? Oh, that's just- I mean, you don't really believe that, don't you?" He asked while laughing. His hand stopped vibrating and he backed off.

"You are lost without him and you will be." He said and I grew angry. "What the hell does that even mean!?" I yelled and he finally looked at me. "You will know soon enough." He simply said and I huffed out in annoyance. "They will come for me. They know that I  was upset and if they don't hear from me they will come." I said and Thawne smirked. "That's what I'm hoping for." He said and in a second he was holding up a metal pipe and in the next he rammed it into my thigh. I screamed out in pain and looked down to the pipe in my thigh. "What the hell?" Another voice asked and I felt myself drifiting asleep. The power dampening cuffs clicked once and fell to the ground afterwards.

I awoke chained to the wall. My leg was healed and I was alone. Then I heard steps and I looked up to the person who entered the room. "Hello, sweet Zoe." Echo said and I frowned. "You- you escaped." I said and Echo smirked. "Ah, well, I've had a little help." She said and I shook my head. "I need you to sleep, Storm." She whispered as she crouched down. Then she touched the palm of my head. "What?" I asked confused. Suddely, I felt sleepy and my eyes flickered shut.

The next my eyes opened I felt like I slept for days. I realized that that was true. "It's been a while. Sadly, Barry hasn't shown himself, yet." Thawne said and I groaned at the pain in my head. "Now, what are we gonna do with her?" Thawne asked and I realized that he wasn't talking to me. Echo stood in the corner of the room, watching me. "We'll wait. Barry knows she is in trouble. They will come and as soon as they find her, they're screwed." She said coldly. "Mom, I- I- I know you're in there! If you could just snap out of it-" I tried but was cut off. "Snap out of it? Listen to yourself, Zoe. Your mother hasn't seen the surface for a long time." Echo said and came out of the corner. I looked terrified up to her and Thawne.
