25. For the ones who deserted us

"Mania... and another speedster?" Nora asked and we looked confused at the woman that came from the future. "Nora? Is there something you're not telling us?" Iris asked and Nora began to look uncomfortable. "This- this is all my fault. They-" she sighed and then added, "They weren't supposed to be here. They're too early." She said and Team Flash looked at eachother. "How early? And where is this speedster coming from?" Barry asked. "Well, it was only Mania, remember? I- This speedster, this suit, it looks familiar, but I can't-" Cisco cut her off, when he seemed to have found something. "Hey guys? It seems like Melting Point is back and at it with his swapping powers." Cisco said and I went to get the power-dampening cuffs. "Zoe, try it with talking first." Barry said and I nodded. "Of course, boss." I spoke and then Cisco gave me a grey mask with black highlights, like my jacket. "Thanks." I smiled at the man before putting the mask on and racing in the city where the meta was. "I didn't want to take your powers." The meta said directly to me when he saw me. "Good. Because I really want them back and I obviously need your help with that. Will you help me?" He nodded and I smiled before speeding him to Star Labs, where Team Flash awaited us.

"I've always wondered what it felt like running around like that and now that I've had that, even if it was for a glimpse, I'm sad to see it go." I whispered and then Barry's eyes flashed silver and he looked angry over to me. "Hey!" Storm exclaimed offended. Then I walked over to Barry and stood beside him while Melting Point behind us got. He brought his hands to our shoulders and I felt the speedforce leaving my body. Then I felt Storm back inside my head and sighd when the hand left my shoulder.

Suddenly, Barry began to run around in his suit and I smiled at him. "His mind was no fun. It was all about-" "Storm! You promised." Barry then exclaimed and sped infront of us. Cisco and Caitlin then showed Melting Point the way out and left us with Nora and Iris. "Oops." Storm taunted before she met me take over and I looked confused at the speedster. "What was that all about?" I asked and Barry stepped closer. "Don't worry." He whispered and I looked up into his green eyes. I smiled

Suddenly the alarm went off and Caitlin and Ciscp rushed back in the cortex. "It's Mania! She's killing." Caitlin exclaimed and I turned to the big screen on the wall which showed us exactly that. And all of the sudden, those pictures reminded me of my first kill. Thawne. Mania had a hand on a man's chest while his breathing stopped. She got up to her feet and then was sped away by the new speedster. Then I got behind the desk and tracked the speedforce activites through the cities.

Caitlin turned to Frost and Cisco opened a breach while he put on his goggles and jacket. Barry already sped away and Iris got behind the desk. I thrusted my hand forward and then heard things clanking as my dark jacket came flying right into my hand. "Let's get that bitch." I snarled and then teleported onto the street where the speedster came to a halt.

Nora then sped next to me in her suit and mask and I pressed a kiss on her cheek before teleporting infront of the evil meta. I ripped the hood from her face and she chuckled as her face revealed a mask that would hide the right side of her face. "Not yet." The distorded voice said and I looked into her eyes. "What do you want?" I snarled, asking her. Then she disappeared and I turned and looked around. "Now!" The distorded voice from the metal suit exclaimed and then began to speed in a circle, building up electricity.

"This is for the ones who deserted us!" Mania yelled from the top of a building and I teleported behind her. I suddenly saw glimpses. Glimpses of something I have never seen before. Glimpses of an orange streak saving me from a red lightning coming my way. "Ah.. so you know now. Now you shall feel the pain that I did." Mania said before turning around to me and kicking me in the stomach. I landed on the floor of the roof and I struggled to get up.

When I did, I saw Mania taking off her mask and smiling. Then she turned around. "You were right, Dad. I was meant for greatness. And I will rid them of everything that is weak. I will make them strong again." Mania said. I watched her as she began to hover in the air. I licked my lips before Storm let my take over fully. "You bitch!" I exclaimed, realising something.

Then when she turned halfway around to me, I ran towards her, put the power-dampening cuffs on her and threw us together from the roof. I smiled when I was falling and closed my eyes. "Zoe!" Frost yelled and I was gliding on ice to the ground.

Mania laid next to me and I sat up quickly. Then I pressed my hand on her chest as did she and I gasped when I saw something.

[ Flashforward to the crisis |
third pov ]

Zoe was teleporting from place to place while fighting. When she returned to the street where the big fight was taking place, she looked around franctically until her eyes were met with the red suit that she was familiar with. "Barry, no!" The blonde yelled as the Reverse-Flash began to beat up the scarlet speedster. Suddenly, Barry produced time remnants. One of them raced over to Zoe and Zoe kept her eyes on the red suit. "No! No!" Storm suddenly came through and watched the other heroes around her. Storm took over completely and rose up into the sky, her eyes on the enemy. Then she looked up into the red sky and felt the ground beneath her slightly shaking. Storm then landed on the ground and began teleporting around, helping the ones in need. She avoided Thawne as he avoided her. His army also avoided fighting her, and she figured that Thawne told them how lethal she became over the years. Storm kept Zoe out her head as she mercilessly fought and tried to keep her from seeing what she saw, what she did. Suddenly, the time remnant that had watched and protected her sped her away from the scene and into Barry and Zoe's apartment. "What the hell-" Storm exclaimed angrily and was about to leave as the time remnant. "Barry, please. Please, let me go." Storm whispered. "I can't lose you, too.." the time remnant suddenly answered and Storm smiled softly. "You won't." Then her smile faded as Storm unwillingly turned back to Zoe. Zoe looked down herself confused and stammered words. "Storm? Storm!" She asked, but got no answer. Then she ran towards the window and looked outside. The  red skies were still present, but the fight stopped. She turned around and all she saw was a note on the table. The speedster was gone. "It is not over." The note said, but before Zoe could've read it, she passed out on the floor. Suddenly, a ghost-like version of the blonde rose up from the unconscious woman and smiled down to Zoe. When Zoe came to, the double stood over her, smiling.

"I am not Storm, nor am I you, Zoe. My name is Mania. And you will learn to fear that name soon." Then she disappeared and left Zoe alone with herself.

[ Present day | Zoe's POV ]

Then Mania kicked me in the stomach and I laid on the ground again. "How does it feel, knowing that you've lost to the two people you could never hurt without hurting yourself?" She whispered in my ear and I felt a cold shiver running down my spine. We then both got up on our feet and I took a deep breath. I turned around and then slowed down time as I walked to Barry and the other speedster. I placed my hand on Barry's shoulder, stopped slowing down time and thrusted my hand in the direction of the other speedster, pushing him as far away as my powers let me. Then I teleported Barry and I to Star Labs and no minute later the others arrived there too.

"Guys...  I- I know who Mania is." I said and looked at the team. "I am Mania!" I told them
