38. Against one

"You did what?" I asked Barry after he told me what he did prior to what I did to Mania. "I called Oliver and Cisco travelled to Earth-38. He also got the Legends to come here, who do you have yet to meet." Barry said and I shook my head. "We had her! I had her! If you wouldn't have come-" I said but was cut off by him. "If I wouldn't have picked up the signal of the cube, you'd be dead now, Zoe." Barry said and I took a deep breath. "Thanks for saving me." I whispered. Then I turned around and left the room. I was sure that this was gonna get a lot more harder.

"Where is Nora?" I asked Barry before I heard the clicking of heels on the floor in the hall. "I send her back to her time." Barry said and I just stared at him. Then I turned to our guests and smiled a fake, yet convincing smile as they entered the cortex. Oliver and Felicity were followed by a dark blonde haired lady and Diggle, who I got to know when I hid in the bunker with Sam. "Zoe." Felicity said with a small smile and hugged me tight. I hugged her back and realized that I was glad to see her.

When we pulled away from eachother, Oliver gave me a quick nod and a friendly smile before I welcomed and thanked Diggle and the unknown woman. "Hi, I'm Laurel Lance." She said and send me a friendly smile. "Laurel's the Black Canary." Barry said next to me and I frowned before I nodded. "Zoe. Zoe Black." I said smiling and she chuckled. "Yeah, I figured." She voiced and my attention was drawn to Cisco when he and Caitlin exited her lab and handed Barry the improved and repaired cube. "Thank you, Cisco." I said and he grinned at me.

Kara and her friends and her sister joined us later in the evening. I was in a conversation with Laurel about her canary cry and I quickly figured that she would be most necessary in taking Mania down when people that I did not know entered the cortex. "Sara." I just heard Oliver say and then saw her hug her. Then Laurel left me standing by myself to hug the blonde woman and when I turned around I saw Barry looking at me. Felicity came up to me and introduced me to the blonde with a big smile on her face.

"Sara, meet Zoe. Zoe, that's Laurel's sister, Sara." Felicity said and I chuckled before Sara also let out a small chuckle. "So, you're the one whose evil future self has come here to destroy everyones lives?" She asked and seemed serious before smirking. "Not everyones, just... mine." I whispered and Sara slightly punched me in the arm. "Don't worry. You got a bunch of heroes and outcasts to help you fight." She said and I smiled before sighing.

Then I looked around and raised my voice slightly when I said, "Hey guys, I'd like to say a few words before anything is going down here." I said and all of the sudden, they all turned to face me and I took a deep breath. "I won't forget that you have come here to help us. It- It won't be easy. Mania... Mania is me. She's my future self. She won't go down easy. Mania... and um, Storm and me are able to slow down time around us, making it nearly impossible to catch us if we do so. I don't know how much stronger than me Mania is, but I do know that with the help of you, we have a good chance at beating her." I said and Laurel slowly stepped forward.

"Who... who's Storm?" She asked and I sighed, flashing my eyes and letting Storm come out knowing the risks. Barry stood beside me after she let me take over. "Storm's weaknesses are cold and sonic waves, which is why Killer Frost and Laurel are the ones with the best shot at her." Barry said and I slowly stepped back.

"Seems like everyone's got their work cut out for them." Oliver said and I looked up to see Felicity, Winn and Cisco were at the touchscreen monitor and when Felicity looked up, I turned around to see, on the monitor at the wall, that they ran scannes throughout the city searching for her. "She's here." Felicity breathed out quietly and I frowned. "What?" I asked but it was too late.
