"I'm sorry we didn't get to spend more time together.." I said and she nodded into my direction. "Oh, it's fine, Mom. We'll spend our whole lives together." Nora said and then she hugged Barry. I looked at them before I cleared my throat and looked at the others.
Nora then turned the tachyon device on and Barry put his mask on. I looked at them again before they ran off through the particle accelerator. "You okay?" Caitlin asked and I nodded. "Of course." I whispered. Then Barry and Nora came to a halt infront of us. "What happened?" Cisco asked and closed the entrance to the accelerator. "It's not working." Barry said.
A few minutes later we were all in the cortex. Cisco, Barry, Caitlin and Nora talked about what happened and how to make it happen again while I sat down at the desk. Maybe it was for the best? "Maybe this is a good thing?" I said out loud and looked up to them. "I mean, we, um, could get to know our daughter, you know?" I looked at Barry and he sighed. "Nora's been here for far too long. She could've already altered the future, Zoe. She needs to go home." I got up from the chair and frowned. "You said yourself that it wasn't working. Maybe she could stay. For a few more days." I said quietly and Barry walked over to me. "She shouldn't be here, Zoe. I know that this our daughter but this isn't her time." Barry said in a low voice and I blinked rapidly and shook my head. "No. No. Yes." I said and Storm cut in. "What are you doing?" Barry asked and Storn chuckled. "Just let her stay. You might think that we're saying this because we don't know how dangerous this can be. But we know. We've caught up. Flashpoint? Travelling back or forth in time on purpose? But this is our daughter, Barry. And this might be first and last chance for you to get to know her." Storm said and I was shocked by her words. Then Storm looked down at us and sighed before she teleported us back in my apartment. "Wow." I said in my head and Storm smirked. "So, we have a daughter. Oh- does she have a- um, you know?" Storm asked and I answered. "It seems like it. She said she has one but um, she can't control her." Suddenly, Storm let me take over and just then the door opened and revealed Barry coming in. I sighed and turned around to sit down on the couch.
"Storm said some things... I didn't know you did a background check." Barry said and I ran my fingers through my hair. "I wanted to know what you've been doing, but that's not why you're here." I whispered. "Zoe, you have to understand that she can't stay. She might be our daughter but this isn't her time. She already affected the timeline." Barry said and I took a deep breath. "She's here for you, Barry. She told me so herself. And it's clear that she doesn't want to see me." I said and looked down. "That's not true. She's here for you, too." Barry said and took my hand. I pulled my hand out of his. "No... no, she's not. Barry, just- just, please, talk to her. And until you do that, I want to be alone." I whispered and Barry got up. "Zoe-" "No, Barry, just go and talk to her. Please." I said and then turned my head to the window. "Alright. I will see you later then." Barry said quietly and kissed my head before he headed out.
I held my hand out and heard glass bottles shake before one of the half empty bottles leaped into my hand. I opened it and started to chug it down. I got up from the couch and walked up to the window. I looked down on the streets and on the people. I took another big sip again and sighed afterwards.
"You're not there, in the future. And I just wanted to get to know you." Nora said as I began to see Barry infront of me. In a room that looked familiar. Then I got it. The time vault. It was as if I was there. "But you don't have to so hard on her. She's still your mom." Barry said. "She lied to me my whole life! She- she never told me what happened to you. I had to snuck out and ask questions. And she never told me about this- this other thing. What do you call it? Storm?" Nora exclaimed. "Nora, you have to understand. This- this person that raised you is not the Zoe we all know here." I snapped out of it when the bottle slipped out my hand and on the floor.
After I cleaned up I went back to Star Labs and into the speed lab and began to train. Quite the time later, Barry and Nora passed the speed lab and when they saw me, they turned around and entered it. "What's going on here?" Barry asked and I stopped training. "I needed this." I said and ran my fingers through my hair. I sat down and exhaled a deep breath. "Um, Nora is going to stay for a while." Barry said and I nodded perplexed. "Okay, that's- that's great. Where will she be staying?" I asked and Barry and Nora shared a look. "I thought we could move in with you. Unless it's not a good idea or-" "No, no... that's perfect." I whispered and got up. Nora chuckled and Barry then walked over to me and hugged me. I also embraced him in a hug. "About what I said earlier-" I began but he cut me off. "It's okay. Really." He whispered and then pressed a kiss against my cheek.
Later that day Nora and I were sitting at the dinner table while Barry made dinner. Due to Barry's speed and me being able to teleport it was easy to move some of his stuff into my apartment. "Can I ask you something?" Nora asked and turned to face me. I quickly nodded. "How did you get your powers?" She asked and I gulped before I answered, "When I was young my parents experimented on me. So that I could never get as sick as my mom was. And with those experiments, these powers came." I said. Nora nodded and then looked down on the table. "Dinner's ready!" Barry said in loud voice and then turned around to us. I chuckled and smiled up to him.
