XIV. Let Her Fall

"I'm sure someone was there," naupo sa tabi niya si Keeper.  Strar was still doing his own selfish thing, nasa cell phone na naman ang mukha at atensyon. "I saw it with my own eyes."

"You mentioned, there were only two people inside the house, Alyce and her maid." Tumango siya. "What if, it was just her maid?"

Naingat niya ang mukha kay Keeper. "That's impossible, I felt its presence. It was not a human. It was just a split seconds but I felt him or her. He or she is a heaven being like us."

"There are fallen angels everywhere," singit ni Strar nang hindi sila tinapunan ng tingin. "The house looks creepy. Not to mention, negative emotions and memories were stuck in that house. It could trigger a fallen angel to camp in there."

"I know when I see one, Strar. It's not a fallen angel." Iritadong sagot niya rito. "Believe me, may katulad natin na nagmamatyag kay Alyce."

"Then who could it be?" baling na tanong sa kanya ni Keeper.

"I have to find that out."

WHY is she always dreaming about that night with Darwin? Na tila ba totoong nangyari 'yon. It seem real every time she dreams of that one passionate night she and Darwin shared together. Pero mali e. Alam niyang imposible na mangyari 'yon. Pero bakit paulit-ulit na lamang niya 'yong napapaginipan? 

Was she, subconsciously fantasizing Darwin? Well, yes, may gusto siya kay Darwin. Kahit na i-deny niya 'yon, gagawin niya lang sinungaling ang sarili. But she's out of his league. At alam niyang malabong magkagusto ito sa kanya.

And it's making her really sad.  

"Minsan iniisip ko," bahagya siyang nagulat nang maupo na lang bigla si Darwin sa vacant seat sa harapan niya, "na gustong-gusto mo talaga akong makita kapag wala kang ginagawa kaya tumatambay ka lagi sa Dolce Fate, Alyce."

"This is the only cafe na malapit sa bahay." Mataray niyang sagot. "Please, don't assume things unless needed, Mr. Fate." 

"I'm sorry, I thought wrong, Miss Alonzo." He grinned in response. "Well, enough of polite conversation. Anyway, how's your classical concert? It's almost May."

Now their back from being friends. Alam niyang pagkakaibigan lang ang lebel na mayroon sila. But his actions are contradicting with the conclusion she have in mind. Natural na kasi na palakaibigan ito at sweet. Pero bakit pinipilit niyang pwede nga sila? Na, pwede rin siyang magustuhan ng isang Darwin Fate?

Everyone are saying, Darwin likes him. Well, baka nga gusto nga siya nito, but not in a romantic kind.

"My staff are working on it na," sagot niya. "May event organizer na rin akong kinausap. On going naman ang mga practices ng mga bata. At so far, madaming interested na pupunta dahil na rin sa fundraising cause ng event. Malaki ang maitutulong nun sa mga batang may cancer sa St. Johns para sa gamutan nila."

"Nakikita kong nag-e-enjoy ka sa ginagawa mo."

"I am," she can't help but smile. Enough of her own love problem. "There is this unexplained feeling that no words can describe how genuine happy I am."

"Revenge is sweet but helping others is sweeter.  There is this myth, na kapag nakagawa ka ng isang libong kabutihan sa mundo ay pwede kang mag-wish ng kahit na ano sa Dios."

"Really?" 

Darwin nodded. "And that wish, will really come true."

"Pero sabi mo nga, myth lang, so malaki ang chance na hindi totoo."

"You're failing the test, honey. You don't do good deeds in exchange of something. Be a blessing to others, then you will be blessed. Do things wholeheartedly and not because it's a must. Walang point ang isang kawanggawa kung napipilitan ka lang. That's not fulfilling."
