Like striking a bad note as part of a classical chord,
Hatred trains for war and marches in like troops in hordes.
As the spiteful feelings fade of desiring to settle the final score,
What was thought to be true love has rotted through to its hardened core.
What was once a witty conversation is now an unending bore.
Those cute, peculiar nose wrinkles transform into the abhorrence of a snore.
Cherishing the passion, trust, and respect is unfortunately no more.
It forces one to wonder why all of this time is wasted for?
There's no such true romance as is written in fictional lore.
Meeting a new acquaintance to get to know becomes a dreadful chore.
After countless years of pointless efforts, there's nothing worth it left to explore.
If anything is, it's a weakened heart and a damaged ego that's bitter and sore.
No more.
