If I were to jump off of a cliff
An escaped riff on a spliff leaping to a free fall
In the West Virginian Hills,
Would it send chills
To a condescending naysayer?
Floating on a higher atmospheric layer.
Could a simple prayer
Save me?
Falling adrift on the freshly bountiful air
High as a sparrow hunting its prey.
The perfect bird's eye view...
With the velocity of a shooting arrow
Like a vaulted spear.
I'm free forever.
I tried to conform and adhere.
It led me through a treacherous strait to here.
Out of earshot of anyone I loved.
Deep in the wilderness
As if I were ready to finally summon
Out the harrowing demon.
Or did I call out myself?
There's no help...
For the downtrodden,
Those viewed as hobgoblins
And exiled to the distant sands.
All for trying to make a hardened stand,
To be exclusively grand, at least
For once... if only.
It truly can prove to be lonely
At the very top.
But, not in a successful way, as one would think.
Is this all I deserved after everything?
