A Normal Day

"Wait up, Parker!" I yelled as I tugged on my friend's sweater in the hall.

"I need to get to my next class before the bell rings!" Peter laughed.

I grabbed his arm and pulled him to my locker anyways. I mean we both had lunch, and Peter just loved getting there early before the herd of normal people came. However, putting my awful AP textbook away before I personally threw it at someone was very important. If I kept Satan's favorite book with me for lunch and I saw someone I didn't like.... Well, it's safe to say that me hitting them with that book specifically would put them in the hospital.

Peter leaned against the locker next to mine, as I fiddled with the combination. Once this way, two times the other way, hit the lock, and Boom! it opened. I dropped my book in with a loud bang, and hoped I didn't cause a dent in the bottom of the locker. Neverless, I didn't check the inside of the locker as I kicked it shut and relocked it closed.

"Was that a new picture of Eurus in your locker?" Peter asked. "Seriously, how many pictures of her and Spider-Man do you need?"

"Hey, those two are the best part of Queens!" I defended, walking towards the cafeteria. "Not to mention that Eurus is a riot. She is so funny, and just overall amazing at everything. She is hands-down the best superhero ever."

Peter was walking by my side, and just rolled his eyes. "Spider-Man's funnier."

I just shoved him into the wall, and walked over to lunch, running when he tried to catch up. Ned already got his food, so I threw my bag at him and asked for him to keep guard of it. It was a normal routine by then, even if we did just recently come back to school that month. I mean, we did it all of freshman year, and we were doing it now.

Cafeteria food is the worst kind of food, and that's coming from me, an avid food eater. They make you wait in a long line for stale bread rolls and gravy over cardboard. Even if that wasn't what they were serving, I knew not to trust it. Luckily enough, though, I remembered to bring a few dollars for the school vending machines, and bought a soda and chips. If I was still hungry after, I would just have to steal whatever Peter was eating. Which was fine, since he loved me.

Platonically. Obviously he loved me as a friend and nothing else, and I couldn't have it any other way! He was just amazing and smart and funny; I could talk to him about literally anything my weird heart desired, with the exception of two rules.

Rule Number One: Never reveal that I was Eurus. I have read my fair share of fictional stories, fanfictions, and news articles to know that it would have been a bad idea. I mean, everyone knows who Tony Stark is, and that Steve Rogers, the Captain America, was still alive. They just proved my point though, since everyone they loved must be kept a secret or else. It was no wonder that Tony was moving farther away from the city, with all the chaos that ensued! I was powerful, and I had enemies. Even revealing myself to my superhero partner, Spider-Boy, was a big no-no.

That rule was typically easy to follow, although there would be times when I would almost slip up.

AP was the devil when I was addicted to procrastinating studying by going out to fight crime instead. I was proud to say that I was my biggest fan, and I loved hearing other people talk about my superhero persona as if she was a goddess. Which she was, really. In my eyes, at least.

Rule Number Two was much harder to follow. I had this rule even before coming into Queens a year ago. There was no way I could have purposefully broken this rule, so I wasn't even quite sure why I decided to call it a rule.

"(Y/N), you okay?" Peter asked me.

I didn't even notice he was standing right next to me by the vending machines. He put a hand on my shoulder, and I ignored the silly feeling in my stomach.
