Right as I knocked on Peter's door, I heard a large crash from inside. It was the normal type of Peter Parker crash, though, where it was just from his nasty reflexes. He would have probably been the worst superhero ever with how clumsy he was! (He could totally be the Lois Lane to my Superman. Wait no, they were a couple, weren't they?) I could hear Aunt May tell Peter to go get the door, and Peter gave her an excuse on how he couldn't.
Finally, after standing at the door for two minutes, Aunt May opened it up. She seemed just as excited to see me as she did the first time we met, just a little under a year ago. Honestly, she was just an amazing person, and was like an aunt to me, too.
"(Y/N)!" May said, arms opened. "I've got the pizza in the oven, and-"
Peter shoved May out of the way, and shooed her to go watch over the pizza. He awkwardly leaned against the doorframe, as if this was his plan all along. Did he put cologne on? And he was wearing a nicer shirt, too. I mean, I completely downgraded and wore sweats, but okay.
"Sorry about that," Peter said as casually as he could. "I just got out of the shower."
"Really?" I asked. "Your hair is completely dry!"
"Thaaaaaaaat's because I blow dry it," Peter nervously answered.
And that seemed to have been the end of that awkward conversation. I waited for Peter to move out of the way, but he never did. He just leaned uncomfortably on the doorframe with his arms folded, not saying anything. Yep, this was definitely more awkward than it needed to be. I sort of wished Ned was there to ruin the quietness of it all.
"Are you gonna move out of the way?" I asked.
Peter blinked. "Oh, yeah. Sorry."
He stepped aside, and let me into the apartment. It was a cute little place that obviously Aunt May did a lot of renovations to. There was bright walls and furniture, plus a little living room with a large flat screen TV. How she could have afforded it all, I would never know.
I went straight to the couch, and popped onto it. It was just going to be me and Peter (and his aunt) that night.
I was pretty sure Peter and I had watched Fellowship of the Ring at his house, like, a gajillion times, but that was because it was amazing!
"How's the Stark Internship going?" I asked Peter, as he was looking for the DVD to the movie.
"Oh, it's good!" he said, not really paying attention. "Lots of work though, so I'm always busy."
"What do you do, exactly?" I asked, while Aunt May brought pizza over. "With the internship, I mean."
"I mostly study how the suits work, and the biology of aliens," Peter answered, although some strange feeling made me think he was lying. "I've met a lot of awesome superheros in it."
"What about Eurus?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"No, but I have met Spider-Man."
"Oh, not this again!" Aunt May complained, already knowing what was going to happen.
"We're not doing anything!" Peter laughed, trying to act innocent.
He jumped onto the couch, with May in between us, and grabbed the TV remote. May had a little coffee table in front of the couch, where she put the pizza as well as a bag of popcorn. I grabbed a slice, and got comfortable.
"(Y/N) and I are just having a mature argument about whether or not Spider-Man or Eurus is better," Peter continued.
"Spider-Man is cool, but he isn't powerful," I explained. "Like, what even is his superpower, anyway? He can't shoot webs without that little device on his wrist, and the walking on walls thing isn't because he sticks to it!"
