I honestly thought my day couldn't get any more surprising. And I was wrong, obviously.

It seemed as if a hundred peculiar nightmares were launched at me, and I didn't know how to react, other than stand still and look stupid. First it was the fact that Peter ignored me the whole time I was at Decathlon practice, which sounded selfish, but it still sucked. Then MJ was acting nice and gave me her number, which shouldn't be weird, but I had little-to-no friends, so it was, indeed, a shocker. Then Maria Hill came from the shadows of an alleyway to reveal that my secret identity isn't so secret as I thought it was, and then HIRE me for a job. Not only did she tell me that there was some shifty organization with a badass name that knew me, but they also knew Spider-Man, and said that I knew him in real life as well.

When I got to my apartment, I was hoping to scavenge for food, then pass out on my bed. AP homework didn't seem too important after the weird-ass day I just had. But obviously that didn't happen, since when I opened the house door, my mom and sister were cheerfully waiting for me inside.

It didn't sound that big, especially after meeting a SECRET SPY FROM A SECRET ORGANIZATION, but it was. My mom was a nurse at a local hospital who typically worked shifts on end just because she was too nice to turn them down. She was the real superhero, especially since our dad often traveled and was never home. Not entirely his fault, since he was "The best customer service agent TripManager has ever had!" Even though I had a superhero identity, I was basically the least heroic out of my whole family.

Mom was in the apartment's kitchen, singing Elton John's I'm Still Standing, while my sister sat on the wooden table we normally ate at. Katie was on the her tablet, most likely working on some puzzle, and she almost dropped the device when I came in. It was as if she had never seen me before, and she ran over to hug me. Katie was still tiny, and only was up to my armpits, which made hugging her super awkward.

"How was your day?" Mom asked, as she mixed together some sort of pasta sauce. "First day of DECA, right?"

"Yeah yeah yeah," I answered, still a bit shocked. "How did you--what are you doing here, mom?"

"Oh, I just needed a break from work," she hummed. "May Parker was just telling me about how Peter was saying you were so excited to join DECA. What do you do in that class, by the way?"

"It's a club, actually," I told her. "Um, it's kind of like a smarter, more competitive version of the STEM program."

Katie was already back to playing on her tablet, and mom was focused on her cooking. She was an excellent chef, although she never had time to actually use the fun recipes she loved. Whenever she got home, it would typically be at midnight, and by then she would be far too tired to make anything. She could have worked as an entrepreneur with her own restaraunt, if it wasn't for the fact that she loved helping people more.

I walked into my room, and immediately threw my bag onto the ground. My ear buds were still plugged into my phone from listening to music earlier, and I began pulling up Eurus videos on YouTube.

Spider-Man and I had actually thought about starting our own YouTube channel, but we didn't know what we would put on it. It would be dangerous having to record on our phones when we were fighting against semi-evil people, plus the identity thing would get in our way. All in all though, it was still a pretty funny idea.

My phone buzzed with another text from Maria Hill. She kept sending me information about Nathaniel Montague, like his height, weight, and parents. It was cool in a creepy sort of way, although I had no clue how it would help me at all. It was cute to know that he weighed only 7 pounds when he was a baby, but it wouldn't help in a fight if it came to that.
