Camila's POV

Everything I had been rehearsing to tell her died in my throat. I sat on a bench in the sun in front of the clinic, watching the movement in the street while a voice warned me that I did practically the same as her. I left without giving explanations.

"Don't be so hard on yourself..." Taylor tried to calm me down, when, seconds later, I saw myself dialing her number.

"She didn't have a reason to stay, besides, she didn't even have to hug me after all... but I did, I owed her explanations."

"Camila, I understand that you feel sorry, but you don't owe anything to anyone. You are the owner of your own life and you did what you thought would be the right thing in that moment" I tipped my head back, feeling the sun's rays heat me.

"Lauren had her moment of priority, also, she had more than she deserved at that time..." I bit my lip "you spent all your exchange focused on her and her crises"
I saluted one of the parents who was already leaving, paying attention to what Taylor was saying.

"I would never have done that in your place.."

"It doesn't change the fact that I was negligent with her" I said

"That shows that you are in another stage of your life, that you understood that you can not live only with love. That it's necessary to go further to be someone. and also you understood that your decisions only say the respect that you have to yourself, but later, in case of not being the correct ones, you will have to assume the consequences..."

"Well I am maturing, my life but... your sister?"

"Give her time. I don't understand why this sudden departure from her, but wait a bit before looking for her.." wait, wait and wait, what an irritating word "you shouldn't rush things, the best ones and the ones that last the longest are those that are slow to arrive..."

Lauren's POV

"Hey!" I heard Drew passing through the small door that gives access to the roof of the apartment. One of the most beautiful places to see the city.

"What a disgrace, you never thought about increasing this shit?" he said, massaging his head. I just shrugged, smiling.

"Taylor asked me to look for you" he said and sat next to me on the carpet that was spread out there.

I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling the typical wind of late afternoon crashing into my face.

Then I saw him again.

With a suggestive look.

"Lauren, what did you do at Camila's clinic?" his voice was calm, though his expression was clearly skeptical.

"Conference..." I murmured "that was what I was going to do."

"And what left you with that dead fish face, girl?" I frowned, delighted with the comparison.

"I felt confused" I sighed, deciding not to keep wasting my time fighting not to tell her what happened. He always ended up tearing the truth from me "I exposed my life" I didn't closrd, observing the horizon "but I feel free... I feel that I finally forgive myself."

"And that's not good?" he asked and I nodded  "then why are you like this?"

"I saw Camila" I saw my hands "and I realized that it isn't easy to be without her...:

"And why didn't you tell her that directly?

"Because that wasn't the right time, I was confused, upset..." I raised my head, seeing the imposition of Miami "I felt weak"

"It's time to finish this book, champion..."
he said touched my shoulder.

"You both deserve a happy ending, even I am distressed with the situation"
he said and laughed slightly

"Yes I think you are right" I smiled "but tell me something..." he nodded "why do you always use metaphors that have to do with books?"

"Because they are the only things you know how to do well..." he scoffed, laughing. I ended up accompanying him.

Camila's POV

The next day, after what happened at the clinic, I woke up around seven in the morning and quickly dialed Taylor's number. Sitting on the bed, I observed my reflection in the large mirror on the chest of drawers, my eyes were small and with deep circles under my eyes, showing the bad night I had spent.

I bosted.

"How is my unhappy friend?" her voice came out grave. I smiled ... sweet revenge for all the times she called me after midnight.

"Goodmorning, you happy friend"  bit my tongue after uttering such a stupid rhyme "can I go talk to her now?" I snapped the question, before she began to curse me.

"With her who?" she asked

"Your sister."

"Um..." I could almost see her lying down, with her eyes closed.

"TAYLOR!" I shouted "talk to me"

"Fucking God, don't scream, I'm a pregnant woman" I closed my eyes, throwing myself back, falling on the mattress "I... I don't know..."

"Thank you for such a great help, psychologist."

"It's seven in the morning, Camila!" she complained, after a few seconds in silence, probably to see the clock "it's very early."

"I know.." I sat down again, practically jumping on the bed.

"Give me two seconds..." she said and I bit my lips. Then I heard her talking to Drew. And immediately his voice came on the phone.

"Hi" he said sleepily "Taylor told me to talk to you" I held on not to laugh.

"Listen, I met Lauren yesterdy and she is a bit confused, I don't advise you to look for her yet."

"But what am I going to do?"

"Go to sleep, Camila." he answered

"I can't. Don't you want to talk?" I asked

"No." he said

"Please?" I asked

"No." he said again

"Pleaaaase?" I extended the word more.

"Still no."

"But..."

"Chao" he said and ended the call, what a nice friend.
