One True Pairing

The next night Abby stood in front of her mirror wearing a long beautiful dress. Susan had offered to do her hair and makeup and she gladly agreed since she wasn't the best at it. She felt like a princess and smiled at her reflection (something she didn't do to often).

Anna and Sydni walked in and stood beside her. "Y'all look beautiful." Abby said smiling. "So do you." Anna said as she put her arm around her friend. "Really?"
"Yes." Sydni said.
"Absolutely gorgeous."
Abby smiled as tears appeared in her eyes.
"Thanks." She said.
Just then Lucy and Susan walked in.
"You girls look wonderful!!" Lucy said excitedly. All three girls smiled widely and thanked her.
Susan noticed Abby looking at the ground and seeming a bit nervous, so she put her hand on her shoulder. Abby smiled.
"Edmund is the luckiest guy in the world." Susan said.
Abby looked at the ground smiling slightly
"Yeah! He definitely has the prettiest date in the world." Lucy said with a smile. "Guys stop it." Abby said with a laugh. "But it's true!" Anna said hugging her tightly.
"Oh thank you." Abby said and hugged her tightly.
"You really think it's gonna go well?"
"Nope." Sydni said. "It will go perfectly!!" The girls all laughed.

Edmund stood in his room pacing.
Peter had walked in about five minutes ago, and could handle it no longer

"Edmund you must stop pacing I'm getting dizzy over here!"
Edmund looked up at him. "Sorry, I'm just so nervous."
"Oh don't worry Ed it's going to be great. You'll sweep her right off her feet!"
"But what if I get awkward and sheepish and shy?"
Peter sighed.
"Or what if she can tell I'm nervous and it makes her nervous?!"
"Ed-"
"What if-."
"Edmund!" Peter Shouted with a laugh. "Don't worry about the what if's. How many times must I tell you that." He said with a laugh.

"Listen Ed. Just be yourself. That's all, and she is going to love you for you. Because the person you are is pretty wonderful and she will love him. You are King Edmund the Just after all."

"Thanks Pete." Edmund said with a smile as he gave his big brother a hug." Peter hugged him back tightly.
"Of course Ed."
"Ready?" Peter asked as they stood in front of the door.
"Ready."

Edmund took a deep breath as he knocked on Abby's door.

Abby took a deep breath as she heard the knock.
"You got this." She told herself.
Then she walked over to the door and opened it with a smile.
Edmund's eyes went wide as he his mouth dropped open.
"Woah. You look beautiful."
Abby looked down and smiled.
"Thanks." You don't look so bad yourself handsome." Abby said with a smile.
Edmund chucked.
"I brought you this." He said as he pulled out a flower crown from behind his back.
"Oh Ed." Abby said as she took it from his hands gently.
"It's so lovely." She said smiling.
"It even matches my dress."
"May I put it on you?"
"I would love that!" Abby led Edmund to her mirror and he gently placed the flower crown on her head.
"It actually goes perfectly with this hair style. It's almost as if my hair was done specifically for this....Ed?"
"Hmmm"
"Did Susan know about this flower crown?"
"Well it was actually Lucy's idea but Susan helped her. She chose your dress and what flowers would match best."
Abby laughed.
"Well thank you. I absolutely adore it."
Edmund smiled.
"Ready?"
Abby took a deep breath and looked in the mirror before nodding.
"Ready."

Even though Abby had no idea how to dance she was still enjoying herself. The music had been very fast and upbeat and she and Edmund were dancing together, and they were having fun.
Once the song ended the two stopped dancing and began panting.

"Would you like to go get something to drink?" Edmund offered.
"Yes please." Abby agreed.
She was extremely out of breath and needed a break.
When they had drank some water Edmund was about to ask her to dance again but he noticed Susan was getting a bit annoyed with a Prince she was dancing with.
"Do you mind if I-?" Edmund started
"Sure go ahead." Abby said with a smile.
"Thanks." He said as he kissed her cheek and went to help his sister.

"May I cut in?" Edmund asked as he approached Susan and the Prince.
"Oh certainly your highness." The young Prince Replied with a bow before walking away.

"Thank you Edmund." Susan said as he took her hands so they could dance.
The music was a bit slower now but not enough for a slow dance, just a nice sway.
"He was dreadfully boring." Susan said.
"He kept going on and on about insects."
Edmund laughed.
"I'll gladly rescue you anytime from boring Princes who talk about nothing but insects Su." Edmund said with a smile.
"Thanks Ed." Susan said and kissed him on the cheek.

  Abby looked out on the dance floor and smiled as Susan gave her brother a kiss on the cheek. She saw Anna and Lucy dancing together until Tumnus walked up and asked to dance with Lucy, Anna gladly obliged.

"Hey." Anna said walking up to Abby.
"Hey. Having fun with Lucy?"
"Oh yeah!" Anna replied excitedly. "She's a little chatter box!"
Abby laughed.
"I don't mind though. I love hearing all their story's about getting into Narnia and all the adventures they've had together."
"Me too." Abby replied.

"How's your date?" Anna asked excitedly
Abby laughed. "Uhmm good....It was so much fun dancing together.
I don't think I've laughed that hard in a while."
"Yay!!" Anna said with a shriek.
There was silence for a couple minutes, then Abby's eyes got wide.
"No way!! is that?-"
Anna gasped.
"It is!!"

"Peter and Sydni!!!" The girls said in unison.
"Awhh they are so cute!" Anna said.
"I know."
Just then they turned so Sydni was facing them and Peter had his back turned. Sydni smiled widely and the girls clapped and gave her a thumbs up.
They both started laughing.

The music slowed down and Edmund went to find Abby.
"Shall we?" Edmund asked as he stuck his hand out to the girl.
Abby took his hand and smiled back at Anna who gave her a thumbs up and mouthed "You got this."

The two began to slow dance.
"I've never done this before." Abby said shyly.
"Slow danced?" Edmund asked.
"Nope. I haven't ever even been to a dance."
"It doesn't show." Edmund said and Abby smiled.
There was silence for a few minutes until Edmund broke it.
"I love this music."
"Huh?- O-oh. M-me too." Abby said smiling. It's beautiful"
Abby took a deep breath and looked into Edmunds eyes.
"Edmund do you really think we could be something?" Edmund smiled and kissed her cheek.
"I think we could be everything."
Abby took a deep breath and smiled widely.
"Really?"
"Really."
"So we could be like the OTP?" Abby asked.
"OTP?" Edmund questioned.
"Oh it stands for One True Pairing.
Edmund chuckled.
"Oh."
"Its like the couple that everyone loves and they all hope they end up together." Edmund considered this for a moment.
"In that case, I definitely think we could be the OTP."
Edmund said as he kissed her forehead.
"We are the OTP?!" Abby questioned excitedly.
"Yes. Edmund said.
