{3} Bullying

Story Summary: Anne is getting bullied and doesn't tell Gilbert who is a good friend of Anne

Modern Day Au

It was an ordinary day at Avonlea high school and Anne was walking to school along with ruby and Diana. Anne wasn't the most popular girl in school well not like Josie Pye and the other girls.

As Anne arrived at school she walked to her locker saying bye to Diana and ruby who had to go to homeroom, Anne didn't have any classes with her friends but they did have 3rd period lunch together.

As Anne was walking to class her phone buzzed in her pocket, so she got the phone out and saw where she got a text message.

Your a nobody! I don't understand why your here!

Anne chocked on her tears as she didn't want to cause a scene in the hallway, but she did bump into her very good friend Gilbert.

"Hey Anne!" Said Gilbert

"Hey Gil," Said Anne as she tried to force our a smile

"What's the matter?" Asked Gilbert

"Oh it's nothing well I better get to class," Said Anne as she walked away from Gilbert

Gilbert cleared his throat.

"Um our class is this way," motioned Gilbert

"I know but I'll catch up with you later," Said Anne

Gilbert shrugged and walked to Class anyways

After a while about 5 minutes Anne was late to class so she walked in with all eyes staring at her, so Anne stepped into the classroom and handed Ms Stacy a folded note

"Thank you Anne," Smiled Ms Stacy as she took the note from Anne

Anne Smiled back at Ms Stacy and sat next to Gilbert who looked at her concerned.

"Are you sure your ok?"

"Yea i'm sure will everyone stop asking me that?!" Snapped Anne again making the whole class look at her

"Anne you can talk to me if you want," Said Gilbert

"Listen it is none of your business!" Said Anne as she got up and left

It was the end of the day and Anne has went home early as she pulled the I'm not feeling to well card at the nurses office. So Gilbert went to find diana and ruby.

"What's wrong with Anne?" Asked Gilbert

"I don't know she has been acting strange in 2nd period that she wasn't in her 3rd period class," Said Diana

"I heard someone say that she getting bullied by Josie Pye and the other girls," Said ruby

"Wait bullied why didn't she tell me in the first place?!" Said Gilbert

"Maybe she was afraid that you would come to her rescue,"

"Yea but she's my friend and I want to protect her at all causes," Said Gilbert

"Your in denial for her!" Said ruby

Gilbert gasps

"No I'm not I just hate seeing my friends hurt, especially my best friends,"

"Gilbert.... do you like Anne?" Asked diana

"No I don't like Anne.... I'm in love with her," Said Gilbert "and im going to tell her, but first I need to have a talk with Josie,"

Meanwhile Anne was sitting at home in bed as she had tears stains on her face, and her eyes red and puffy that she didn't hear the door open

"Anne are you in here?" Asked marilla

"Go away Marilla I'm in the depth of despair," sobbed Anne

Marilla walked in anyway as she sat on the bed rubbing Anne's back

"Anne what's the matter?"

Anne Hands marilla her phone not wanting to explain the problem

Marilla gasps

"Anne who's doing this?"

"Josie Pye and the other girls,"

"Anne how would you like to stay home from school for a few days?"

Anne sat up

"Oh please marilla I can't bare another day of humiliation," cried Anne

A knock disrupt there conversation as it was Gilbert at the door

"Good afternoon Ms Cuthbert do you mind if I talk to anne?"

Marilla Smiled

"Of course," Said Marilla as she left

Gilbert moved to sit on the foot of Anne's bed

"Don't Listen To What Josie and the other girls say about you... all of that isn't true,"

"How do you know?" Sobbed Anne

"Because...."

"Because why?" Asked anne

"Because... I'm in love with you," Said Gilbert as he moved a piece of strands out of her face and tucked it behind her ear "and your perfect in every way to me," Smiled Gilbert

"You really mean that?" Smiled Anne

Gilbert nodded

"But why do you love me when you can be in love with all the other girls?"

"Because you don't have what the other girls have, your pretty, intelligent, gorgeous, and did i mention that I like red headed girls?"

"Thanks Gilbert,"

"So will you go out with me?" Smiled Gilbert

"Let me sleep on it,"

"Ok," Said Gilbert as he left

A few months have passed and Gilbert and anne has made there relationship official
