Story Summary: Anne is one of the popular girls that Gilbert has taken a liking in but Anne tests Gilbert because all the boys has seem to like her looks better than herself

It was a normal school day in Avonlea and Gilbert was getting ready, in fact it was the first day of school and this was the year that Gilbert was going to make Anne fall for him. Gilbert isn't the most popular boy but he wouldn't consider himself a nerd, he has friends and he is smart but not a brainiac like the nerds are.

Meanwhile Anne was getting ready by placing lip gloss on her lips along with Diana.

"So how are you and Roy getting back together?" Asked Diana as she was finishing putting lip gloss on her lips And looking at Anne

Anne sighs.

"I don't know I'm kinda into someone else," said Anne

"Ooh who's interested in you?" Asked Diana

"I'm not telling?" Asked Anne

"You know who else likes you?" Asked Diana

"Who?"

"Gilbert Blythe and he has been for a while now," said Diana

"I know it's just I like him but I don't want to risk my popular reputation, if Josie finds out that I like Gilbert she will flip and kick me out," said Anne

"So I'll leave if you'll leave, just tell him how you feel," said Anne

"Or.. maybe I could test him," said Anne as she looked at Diana and smiled while Diana gave her the look don't even think about it

"What I need to see if he really likes me or if he just likes me for my popularity," said Anne as she went back to focus on her hair which was in a high half ponytail with her flaming red hair curled in waves

"Ok," said Diana

The girls arrived at school and they met up with Josie and the girls

"Hey Anne did you hear?"

"Hear what?" Asked Anne

"Roy Gardner has something planned for you," said Josie

Roy Gardner, the schools popular boy and biggest flirt, he has had eyes on Anne since there freshman year they dated but it did t work out and he has became an obsessive boyfriend

"Hey Anne," said Roy as she looked at Anne and winked

"Get lost Roy I like someone else," said Anne as she walked away but bumped into Gilbert

"Oh hey Gilbert right?" Asked Anne

"Yea, hi.. I'm so sorry for bumping into you here let me take you to class," said Gilbert as he picked up Anne's books and handed them to her

"Thanks, hey can I talk to you?" Asked anne

"Sure!"

"So you like me huh?" Asked Anne

Gilbert nodded while smiling

"I really do yea," said Anne

"Great I like you to but I need you to prove it," said Anne as she pointed a finger at Gilbert

"How do I need to prove it?" Asked gilbert

"I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to answer honestly," said Anne, Gilbert nodded while Anne sighed

"Do you really like me for me or for my popularity?" Asked Anne

Gilbert laughed

"What's funny?" Asked Anne

"You really think I would like you for your popularity or looks, the only reason I took a liking in you is because your sweet and angelic and you deserve better on what Roy did to you," said Gilbert

Anne blushed

"Aww stop your making me blush," said Anne

"Yea but I do have one question to ask you," said Gilbert Anne smiled

"What's that?" Asked Anne

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Asked Gilbert

After Gilbert said that Anne leaned in and kissed him on the lips making Gilbert smile after a second they pulled away

"So is that a yes?" Asked Gilbert in a hopeful tone

"Yes I'll be your girlfriend," said Anne

Then the pair hugged while Josie and the girls watched along with Roy who clenched his jaw and punch the locker beside him

The two pair also walked with Gilbert arm around Anne and Anne's around his torso and Gilbert looked at Roy as he stuck his tongue out at him while punching the arm mouthing jackpot to Roy.

Let's just say the relationship was meant to be
