It was a pretty spring day in Avonlea of 1860 and everyone were gathered with their loved ones for the war that was coming, every single male in Avonlea has been drafted for the war including, Charlie Slone, moody spurgeon, billy Andrews, and Gilbert Blythe.

It was also the year that Gilbert has proposed to Anne but their was some other news that Anne didn't tell Gilbert... that news was... she was pregnant

(Beware that they are in their 20's in this one shot so just pointing that out before anyway says that their young obviously there young but they are in their 20's in this one)

Charlie Was saying goodbye to his wife Diana and their newborn baby Katherine, Billy Was saying goodbye to his girlfriend Josie Pye and two sisters prissy and Jane along with his parents, moody was saying goodbye to his parents, while Gilbert was saying goodbye to the love of his life anne

"I'm going to miss you gil," Said Anne as she kept hugging Gilbert tightly while a few tears has slipped down her face

"I'll be back before you know it," Said Gilbert as he pulled away from the hug that he has shared with Anne while wiping away the remaining tears that has stained Her freckled cheek

"Now write to me as much as you can," Said Anne

"I promise,"

"All aboard all soldiers," Said a man with a megaphone

"I love you gil," Said Anne

"I love you Carrots," Said Gilbert

The Anne realized that she has to tel Gilbert something that made her smile

"Gilbert Wait!" Hollered Anne

"Yes?!" Said Gilbert

"I'm pregnant!" Said Anne

After she said that the train was out of sight, Anne broke down crying while Diana tried to confront her

"I know you miss him, but congratulations!" Said Diana as she hugged her best friend

"Thanks Diana," Said Anne as she looked out "I just hope Gilbert will be ok to meet his unborn child," Said Anne

9 months has passed and Anne has moved back in with the cuthberts so they could help Anne raise her two beautiful twins, one boy and one girl, their names were Tommy, and Cordelia.

As Anne was putting the twins to sleep she heard a knock at the door, so Anne got up from her and the twins room until marilla stopped her.

"I'll get it you stay here with the twins," Said Marilla

"No marilla it's fine," Said Anne

"I hate to be stubborn but please stay with the twins," Said marilla In a stern voice

Anne sighed and walked back into the room while Marilla answered the door

"Hello how may I help you?"

"Yes is Miss Shirley here?" Asked a soldier

"Yes she is why?" Asked marilla she knew this wasn't going to be good news

"I'm sorry to say this but Gilbert was lost in action,"

At this moment marilla jumped

"Lost in action?! How is anne going to react to this?" Thought marilla "I'll let her know," Said marilla
