Pi
Nang marating namin ang hotel suite ay parehas kaming tahimik. I was getting uncomfortable of the dead air between us as we both awkwardly sat away from each other.
Tinanggal ko ang sapatos ko at dahan-dahang inilapag iyon sa gilid. I hate why everything was awkward between us just because it's our so-called honeymoon.
Didn't we make it like countless times before?
Pinakiramdaman ko siya at gaya ko ay tila pinakiramdaman din niya ako. I know he had few drinks but he wasn't drunk.
Hinarap niya ako at nagsalita. "Uh... Do you want to use the tub?"
"Y-yeah."
Tumango lamang siya at nagpatuloy sa paghubad ng kanyang coat. Tumayo naman ako at kinuha ang towel na nasa kama. I untied my dress and tried reaching for the zipper ngunit hindi ko iyon maabot.
"Need some help?" he asked in a low voice. I didn't notice him standing near me.
I bit my lower lip as I slowly nodded, lifting my hair from my back. "Yes please."
His hands were shaking as he helped me in my dress. There was a deafening silence between us at tanging ang tunog ng zipper ang naririnig ko.
The sound blended with my fast heartbeat.
"There."
"T-thanks."
Muling namayani ang katahimikan habang hinuhubad ko ang damit. I could still feel him behind me, not doing anything.
Not that I want him to do anything okay?
Binalot ko ng tuwalya ang sarili at nang akmang papasok na ako sa banyo ay nakaharang siya sa harap ko.
"Uh... Can I join?" tanong niya.
I swallowed hard. "Sure."
Tahimik na sumunod siya sa akin sa banyo, stripping naked. I tossed my hair into a bun at tinanggal ang tuwalya sa katawan bago lumusong sa tub at hinayaan ang sariling balutin ng mga bula.
The tub is huge enough for two but I feel nervous as he stepped into the water, in front of me. We sat opposite each other, face to face. Nanatili kaming tahimik hanggang sa mapansin niya ang bote ng wine sa gilid at isang wineglass. Kinuha niya iyon at nagsalin.
He took a sip, smiling a bit at the taste. Damn, if only I wasn't pregnant, it would be good too. Napalunok ako at nag-iwas ng tingin, hooking my leg on the edge of the tub as I lather up.
"Pi?" biglang tawag niya sa akin.
Napatingin ako sa kanya bilang sagot.
"You're so quiet, mind sharing what's on your mind?" tanong niya.
