Westerville Preparatory Theatre Camp, six years ago (age 11)

Sebastian's green eyes shine as he waits for his nanny to pick him up.  He kicks his feet against the rail of the fence he's sitting on, hand still holding tightly on to the brunette girl's seated beside him. 

Her voice is soft when she finally speaks.

"You promise??"

Sebastian nods, green eyes flitting over to look at her, staring so pensively back at him.

"I promise Rachie.  When we grow up we'll be together.  No one will be able to keep us apart when we're grown ups.  And we'll get married and have babies and be together forever."

Dalton Academy, Westerville Ohio - five years later (age 16)

"Once a Warbler, always a Warbler."

Blaine's hazel eyes study Sebastian inquisitively.

"Are you a Freshman?"

Sebastian arches an eyebrow at the shorter man.

"Do I look like a Freshman??"

Blaine is stunned.  Sebastian shakes his head and chuckles, getting some twisted glee in confusing the boy in front of him.  Jeff, the sweet blonde dancer, takes pity on their former lead singer.

"You're messing with his head Smythe, stop that.  Blainers, Sebastian here is our new captain."

"Greetings, Mr. Anderson."

Sebastian does a faux tip of the hat as Blaine blinks in recognition.   He shakes his head.

"Why do I feel like Neo being greeted by Agent Smith all of a sudden?"

Jeff rolls his eyes at Sebastian's antics while the taller boy chuckles softly to himself.

"Pay no attention to him, Blainers.  Seb's difficult. But what does this visit mean?  Is it your triumphant return to Dalton??  Please, please.  Pretty, pretty please....."

It's Blaine's turn to chuckle as he pulls a stack of tickets out of the back pocket of his capri pants.

"Regrettably not Jeffy, my boy.  But I do have a block of tickets for the Warblers to watch me and the lovely Rachel Berry as Tony and Maria in McKinley's production of 'West Side Story' on Friday night.  Center stage, right up front."

The green eyed boy's ears perk up as he hears her name, reaching out lightening fast to grab the tickets out of Blaine's hand.

"Wouldn't miss it for anything, Anderson."

Cast and crew finished up their final curtain call as Sebastian separates from the rest of the Dalton boys. Slowly making his way to the wings, to the backstage area. A single red rose, thornless and beautiful in its simplicity is clasped gracefully between his long fingers.

He remembered Rachel's name immediately when Anderson mentioned it.  How could he forget the brunette angel, his preteen love from theatre camp all those years ago.

She was absolutely superb up there, the perfect Maria is there ever was one. Anderson was okay as Tony. But Sebastian knows, he just KNOWS that if he were given a chance he would have made a great Tony. The ideal match for his teenage dream girl.
