YOU ASKED FOR IT AND YOU'RE RECEIVING! WE GOT THE FIRST DOUBLE UPDATE OF LOVEHAPPY LETSSSGOOO 🥳

"You're going to buy a million dollar house for what reason?" Gwen asked her cousin pointedly as they stood in the middle of a beautiful home in Santa Monica. "You're in a relationship with a man who lives in Boston. Is it really the smartest idea to make this big of an investment on a place that's going to be temporary at best?"

"Who says it's going to be temporary?"

"Unless you plan on breaking up with Chris anytime soon, it's temporary."

"We don't have to break up to live separate lives." Phoenix spoke. "I'm my own woman and I won't allow a man to dictate what I do."

"Aren't you going to at least talk to him about it before you sign on the dotted line?!" Gwen questioned. "This isn't like renting an apartment; you're BUYING a house, Genevieve."

"Ew don't use my government name Gwendolyn." Phoenix rolled her eyes before pulling the house keys out of her front pocket and dangling them in front of her cousin. "Anyways, I already signed on the dotted line which wasn't dotted, by the way. It was just a regular solid line."

"You're insane!" She responded. "Genevieve fucking Benali is fucking insane!"

"Am I though? Real estate is and has always been a good investment." Phoenix reminded. "If I'm going to spent more than half my time in California anyways, I want to have a comfortable place to stay. A place that I can decorate and redesign however I please; a place that's all mine."

"But you and Chris already have a place in Malibu..."

"It's leased so it's not like we could've really done anything with it. Plus the lease ends this month so we're saying goodbye to it."

"Hmm..."

"You know, Chris literally pays all the bills and doesn't even tell me how much it is." Phoenix brought up. "I went from living with my mom to moving out when I was 18 for college. I was fortunate enough to have parents that could cover my entire tuition and housing so I literally had to worry about nothing. Then I graduated and start dating Chris and we moved in together. It's like everyone has been doing everything for me and I haven't even had the chance to really experience my own adulthood yet. Chris does EVERYTHING and doesn't even let me help; that makes me feel like a child sometimes."

"At least you have the opportunity to save all the money you've been earning from YouTube, social media, and other ventures though, right?"

"It's not about that. I'm 24 Gwen and have gone almost my entire life without having to pay a bill." Phoenix began. "Yeah yeah yeah, bills suck but it's also a rite of passage into adulthood. I'm tired of Chris doing everything for me. Don't get me wrong, it's sweet and I do appreciate him but I don't want to be dependent on that or him. I can find my own way."

"Now that you've explained it like that, I get it." Gwen nodded. "You just want something of your own."

"Exactly!"

"What'd your mom say when you told her?"

"I don't know." Phoenix shrugged. "She's been acting a little weird lately... like her attention has been divided."

"That's not like auntie." Gwen frowned. "I wonder what's going on."

"She let slip that she was in Cleveland a few days ago and I didn't think anything of it then but now that I'm actually saying it aloud, it doesn't make a lot of sense."
