After leaving the Dylan's office, Chris and Phoenix didn't speak for the rest of the night. She was still angry with him for sleeping with Jenny and he was upset that she continuously brought up the fact that he had slept with Jenny.

Regardless of their annoyance toward one another, Chris stayed by Phoenix's side the entire rest of the night; staying up until she had fallen asleep. Rather than sleeping on the couch, he built a nice pallet on the floor and slept beside her bed. He wanted to be there just in case she felt sick again or if she simply needed to talk.

"Good morning." Chris greeted at the sound of Phoenix's feet hitting the wooden floor.

She looked down at him and flashed the fakest smile he had ever seen before continuing to the bathroom with Ghost following directly behind, stopping to lick Chris's face.

After a full night's sleep, Phoenix woke up with more hesitance than she had ever felt before. She tried to trick herself into being happy about her pregnancy but her mind was seeing right through it all. It wasn't as if she wanted to get rid of the baby, she just needed time to marinate and wrap her head around the idea that she was in a less than ideal situation all the while expecting a baby.

Chris sighed loudly as he watched Phoenix pull up her sweatshirt and examine her stomach keenly. From his position, he didn't see any changes within her body but then again he hadn't seen her naked weeks.

Chris frowned as he got up from his pile of pillows and blankets on the floor. He roughly rubbed his back, that had been aching for hours thanks to the uncomfortable hardwood floor, before following Phoenix into the bathroom where she was now brushing her teeth.

He leaned against the wall, waiting for her to finish while Ghost ran circles around her feet, signaling that he had to use the restroom.

"Do you wanna go outside buddy?" Chris asked the Siberian husky that had grown so much since the last time he saw him. Ghost wagged his tail and jumped on Chris in response before running toward the back door, with Chris following. Because Phoenix had installed a high tech doggy door that opened and closed automatically when Ghost stood in a certain spot, he didn't have to do anything but watch as the dog activated the door and ran outside. Chris found it absolutely adorable that even with his own smart doggy door, Ghost sought permission from Phoenix before going outside.

When Chris returned back to the master bedroom he found that Phoenix was now back in bed, rubbing her stomach absentmindedly.

"Can we talk for a minute?"

She nodded in response while patting the empty side of the bed, encouraging Chris to lay next to her. After making himself comfortable, he placed his hand on top of Phoenix's as she continued stroking her belly.

"Our baby is the size of an Appleseed." Phoenix spoke quietly, earning a smile from Chris.

"You know there's no way we'll be able to raise our baby in a healthy environment with you hating me."

"I don't hate you Chris."

"But you are still angry with me."
