I'm going on vacation tonight so show some love if y'all want me to drop another update before I leave! 💃🏽

"Tom did this?" Phoenix's mom asked with a smile after examining her daughter's toes.

"Yeah." Phoenix answered as she thought back to how Tom's face looked while he slowly and carefully painted her toenails. "It's been 3 days and it's still going strong. No chips or anything."

"I'm shocked. Lil man sure knows how to paint a set of toes." She complimented. "How are things going with you and Tom anyways?"

"What things?" Phoenix questioned. "We're friends. We're good and we're always gonna be good."

"I see something different."

"Can I have some time to get over my breakup before you start with all this stuff again?" She rolled her eyes. "It hasn't even been a week since Chris and I split."

Cynthia nodded. "How are you feeling?"

"Better than before but not too great, honestly." Phoenix confessed. "When Chris and I were taking space from one another, yes I missed him but I knew that he would still be there when I got back. Now that we're actually broken up, I miss him more than I could've ever imagined. Even though we weren't as close as before by the time we broke up, it still feels like I lost my best friend."

"I know babygirl, I know."

"I spent all day for the first 3 days constantly thinking about what I could've done differently to make things work between us until I realized there was nothing I could've done." Phoenix went on. "I'm starting to come around to the idea that this breakup was the best thing I could've done for us. At least until I can figure out what I want out of life."

Cynthia gently ran her hand down her daughter's cheek. "You're so precious sweetheart and I need you to know that everything is going to be okay. You've got some life changing moments coming up within the next few months; Things that will change your life forever. It's going to be rough but I'm always here for you."

Phoenix removed her mom's left hand from her face before intertwining their fingers. When she looked down, she noticed a beautiful princess cut diamond ring that fit perfectly on her ring finger. "That looks like your old engagement ring."

Cynthia let out a sigh. She had come to L.A. to give Phoenix some love and support since she seemed to be struggling with adjusting to not having Chris in her life; and the last thing she wanted to do was spring news onto her daughter who was clearly in pain over her breakup. Cynthia knew how tough it was for Phoenix to walk away from the person she perceived was her soulmate because Cynthia had to do the very same thing 13 years prior when she and her husband at the time separated.

Phoenix's mom cleared her throat. "I'm getting married."

"Well first of all, I didn't even know you were dating someone." Phoenix frowned. "Second of all, who the hell are you-" She cut herself off after raising her mother's hand so she could get a closer look at the ring. "This is for sure your old engagement ring."

"It is." She confirmed. "Your father and I are getting remarried."

Phoenix busted into laughter at the thought of her parents not only reconciling but walking down the aisle for the second time. Near the end of their marriage, there was nothing but drama and arguments. She was sure that there was no way her parents would put themselves through that again, especially not at such an old age. In her mind, the whole thing had to be some practical joke Julie came up with and convinced their mother to get on board. "You're not getting married."
