"June 7th, 2020." Chris smiled at Phoenix, who was sitting in the passenger seat. They had just left their first ultrasound where the doctor confirmed their due date. She also let the couple know that everything with Phoenix's pregnancy was looking good so far. The baby was planted right in the uterus, which ruled out an ectopic pregnancy, and the heartbeat was nice and strong.
"I can't believe I let you get me pregnant when you did. Now I have to deal with ANOTHER Gemini." Phoenix rolled her eyes jokingly. She didn't know why she was so drawn to them as a whole but some of the most important people in her life were Gemini's: Chris, Tom, and both her mom and sister. "I just can't seem to get away from you horrible people."
Chris let out a belly laugh before placing his right hand on Phoenix's thigh. "You'll be fine baby."
"Two Gemini's and a Scorpio... what a TERRIBLE combination."
"We'll plan it so the next one will be a Scorpio too." Chris chuckled. "To bring balance to the universe."
"Let's just focus on this one first." Phoenix spoke while rubbing her stomach that still hadn't grown. Her doctor informed her that most first time moms don't start developing a baby bump until they're 12-16 weeks so Phoenix didn't have to worry much about her belly still being remarkably flat.
"I know we haven't decided where to raise our baby yet but-"
"Boston." She cut him off. "That's what I've always told you and I meant that."
"Really?" He smiled.
"Of course." She assured. "Now that we're getting married on top of having a baby, Boston is the best place for us to be."
Phoenix knew that raising a child in L.A. would be very difficult thanks to the paparazzi who seem to have no morals or etiquette, even when it came to children. She also knew that compared to L.A., there was practically no paparazzi in Boston. Most of the people who snapped pictures of Chris were just regular fans who ended up posting them online and she assumed those fans would be a lot more respectful when it came to a child than those in California. Phoenix didn't want to have to hideout at home to avoid bright flashes when she and Chris could be taking their baby with them to the grocery store or restaurants or on walks in the stroller when they took their dogs out.
"I can't even tell you how excited I am!" Chris gushed. "Why don't we look at some houses? I don't think a penthouse is a suitable place to raise a baby."
"Finally getting rid of that bachelor pad? I'm in shambles."
"What does a husband and father need with a bachelor pad?"
"You are the cutest, most adorable person I've ever met in my entire life. I would literally cut my heart out of my chest and give it to you if I could."
"If that was possible, I would've done it the day I met you at Downey's game night." Chris told her. "I watched you the entire night and you didn't even notice."
"God, that felt like so long ago. I would've never guessed that we'd make it this far." Phoenix confessed. "Yet here we are: 32 weeks away from having a baby and 1 week away from barefaced Evans making a reappearance."
Chris removed his hand from Phoenix's leg to stroke his beard, placing it back right after. "I'm gonna miss the beard too BUT the pro is that it grows back pretty quick. As soon as that 12 weeks is over, I'll burn all my razors."
"Oh baby, that's hot."
"And you can have me however you want me." He added with a chuckle.
"In that case, I need you to grow your hair out a little bit too." Phoenix spoke. "I want the first thing our baby to see is Nomad Steve so she can know how ICONIC her daddy is right out of the womb."
