Xion's POV

Today is my birthday, but it's also Roxas' birthday. We've always celebrated together. Axel would throw us a huge party and invite everyone. They would all spoil us with gifts and food. I got all sorts of different presents... but all I ever wanted was Roxas.

We were spending the day together, walking around Twilight Town and buying each other stuff from the stores. We were waiting for the party to be ready.

I had gotten him a coupon for free sea salt ice cream for an entire year! He loved it.

Now we're just sitting on the clock tower eating ice cream.

"I hope the party is ready soon. I'm starving!" Roxas said, laughing slightly.

I giggled. "Me too... I wonder if they'll have sea salt ice cream cake again!"

He smiled at me. "I hope so. It was really good last year."

I smiled back. "Yeah, it was."

He took a bite out of his ice cream, smiling as he chewed. "This will never get old."

I looked at him intrigued. "What won't?"

"This whole birthday system we have going on. It's the same every year, but I don't mind it. It's fun." He said, smiling.

I looked down at my ice cream. "Yeah... it's fun."

I took a bite from my ice cream, chewing quickly. He did the same.

"So... anything special you want for your birthday?" He asked me.

I blushed and avoided eye contact. "Yeah... I've wanted this thing for years... but I've never gotten it."

"Why haven't you asked for it yet?" He asked.

He has no idea how hard it is to ask out the love of your damn life.

"I couldn't..." I said, looking out into the sunset.

"Why not?" He asked.

"You wouldn't understand." I said.

"Try me." He said. I could tell he was smiling.

I met his eyes and blushed more. "I can't..."

"Come on, Xion... it can't be that bad." He said.

The way my name rolled off his tongue made me blush more.

"It is that bad..." I said.

He sighed and looked away. "I can't get you it if you don't tell me what it is."

I looked down at my almost finished ice cream. "I know that..."

"Don't you trust me?" He asked, a hint of hurt in his voice.

I looked at him quickly. "Of course I do, Roxas! That's not it!"

"Then what is?" He asked.

I sighed. "This thing I want could change things between us... and I want things to change between us, but I know you don't..."

His expression changed to confusion. "Change?... what do you mean?"

I looked away sadly. "It doesn't matter... just forget about it..."

He lightly grabbed my chin and turned my head to look at him. I blushed madly at the contact. He blushed too.

"It matters to me." He said.
