Hero or Mafia

Chapter 26

That night at dinner it was rather quiet and neither Shouto or Tokoyami knew why. Shinso was playing with his food and Tsuna was looking through some files as he ate, the other two, Ryohei and Kyoya, were nowhere to be seen. Tsuna glanced up from what he was looking at clearing his throat to get the threes, mainly Shinso's attention.

"So Shinso, have you thought about that job offer I gave you considering your performance here?" Tsuna questioned. Shouto looked at Shinso surprised, Tokoyami looked at Tsuna equally surprised not knowing he could do that.

Shinso gulped before looking at Tsuna. "I have... and well, I'll accept your offer, Sawada." 

Shouto and Tokoyami were happy for their newfound friend. Tsuna smiles kindly nodding.

"Then welcome to Vongola. There are a few things that you need to do before you can officially start your job. We'll take care of that before we head back o Japan tomorrow morning," Tsuna said then looked at Shouto and Tokoyami. "Your internships are over feel free to explore the town just be back before sunset."

Hours later Tsuna greeted the three UA teachers in the front garden of the mansion. A maid leads the teachers to where Tsuna was waiting, drinking tea while reading a book. Tsuna chuckled setting down his book.

"Welcome to Vongola HQ," Tsuna greeted standing turning around to face them. Midnight was looking around in awe.

Toshinori chuckled. "Thank you for having us here Decimo."

"Yes, it's quite lovely here," Nezu commented.

Tsuna smiled. "Why thank you it's been in my family for 400 years now. Now let's get inside the ball will be starting soon."

The three teachers nodded as they follow Tsuna into the mansion. Toshinori wasn't phased by the grandness of it all like Nezu and Midnight were. Tsuna took them to two guest rooms to get ready for the ball.

Tsuna after getting ready, and getting Shinso, greeted the other dons and donnas as they arrived. Making small talk with the ones that weren't as close as some. Shinso stood slightly behind Tsuna wearing a leather owl mask which covered the top part of his face. His mask was more like a hood covering his hair as well. Tsuna had a black and gold lion mask rest on the side of his head, his hair looking like the mane. Shinso noticed the three UA teachers and was rather surprised they were at a mafia function. The teachers were also greeted more friendly than the others before them. That was also then when an older man with a horse mask came. Tsuna greeted him like an older brother much to Shinso's surprise.

"Ah, so he's the new one you mentioned before," the man mused causing Shinso to flinch.

Tsuna chuckled. "Yes, I'll tell you later Dino."

This 'Dino' chuckled before walking, tripping, into the ballroom. Tsuna smiled shaking his head fondly before greeting other dons.

Tsuna glanced at Shinso and chuckled softly. "What are you thinking about?"

Shinso looked at Tsuna then sighed. "Well, why did you give me that offer?"

"Why? That's simple really. Your quirk is why. That and you want to do good, in your society, a lot of people call your quirk that of a villain correct?" Tsuna said gaining a nod from Shinso. "A hero wouldn't see the potential a mind-controlling quirk has. I'm not a hero I am far more selfish than a hero would normally be. As a mafioso, I will do anything in my power to protect what is mine like my friends, my family, and my allies. I also will extend that protection to those who deserve it. For you, as a part of Vongola underground, you will mainly be gathering information from the enemies that have been captured to be interrogated. Your quirk will partly get rid of the messy part of that interrogation. As for the Vongola company, you will be doing a more menial type of work till you get promoted to where I want to you be."

Shinso looked at a loss for words as Tsuna turned to greet the last of the dons and donnas coming to the party. After a moment Tsuna secured his mask on his face before leading the way into the ballroom. Shinso was surprised by the greeting Tsuna got upon his entrance.

The ball lasted for most of the night winding down around 3 am when people started to leave, well of course after Tsuna gave a closing speech. A lot were drunk and had to be escorted to their waiting limos or cab. Shinso swore he saw All Might carrying Mightnight out of the mansion as Nezu walked beside them. Soon most of the guests had left leaving Tsuna, Kyoya, Ryohei, Shinso, and Enma, which Shinso had learned of why he was wearing a phoenix mask. Ryohei and Kyoya excused themselves to change and wake up Shouto and Tokoyami to get them ready to leave. Shinso also left to change and get his things which left Tsuna and Enma alone.

Soon the three students were waiting in the limo for Tsuna while Ryohei and Kyoya had already left to get the jet ready. Tsuna walked out the door holding Enma's hand, at the top of the stairs, Enma stopped Tsuna planting a loving kiss on the brunet's lips. They exchanged a few words before they descended the stairs and Enma went to a limo and got in before leaving. Once Tsuna got in the limo they were off to the airport.

Sometime during the flight, Shinso dozed off exhausted from the ball. On the other hand, Shouto and Tokoyami were silently wondering what had gone on and who was Enma to Tsuna. Tsuna looked at them and smirked, he stood and started to walk to the back part of the jet.

"Rest you two it'll be a long flight," Tsuna stated before disappearing into one of the private rooms. The two looked at each other confused.

"Was Sawada drunk?" Tokoyami questioned since they were halfway through the flight.

Shouto shrugged. "It seemed like it."

After a few more hours they landed in Japan, from there they had to report to UA. Tsuna was walking with them once again hiding his true appearance with a massive migraine and feeling like utter shit. The three were somewhat worried about Tsuna but didn't voice it.
