"Boys!" I hear my mom yell and I see Scott and Isaac instantly get up "what do you think you're doing?"

"Uh we were watching over you" Isaac says and I'm just laying next too my mom in her bed

"We wanted to make sure you weren't the third sacrifice" Scott says

"But both of you were asleep" My mom points out

"Shhh!" I say and turn over

"You were on watch last" Scott says

"What are you talking about you were on watch last" Isaac says

"No you were on watch last"

"I might've been on watch last" Isaac says

"My heroes" Mom says

"You both suck at keeping watch" I mumble into the pillow

"Wait didn't you say they were all doctors? I mean I haven't had an MD attached to the end of my name so I'm definitely in the clear" Mommy says

"Yeah but It could just come under any kind of healer mom" Scott says "you were defiantly a healer last night"

"Yeah well I'm not going to be anyone's human sacrifice today. So both of you get your butts to school" My mom says

"You heard her" I say and wave them off

"That means you too"

"Are you kidding can I at least have one day off, please?" I ask

"No" she says and kicks me off the bed. I stand up straight and brush myself off then walk out the room with Isaac and Scott behind me

"Jay why were you sleeping with your mom?" Isaac asks

"Well I went downstairs too get water and when I walked back upstairs there was a big, black bug in my room. So I quickly ran too my moms room" I tell him

"Well where's the bug now?"

"That's the problem... I don't know" I say and walk carefully into my room with Isaac following behind me

"I'll find the bug for you" He says and grabs me around the waist then picks me up

"Wait! Isaac stop!" I whisper yell and he puts me down slowly

"Everything okay in here?" I see Scott's head sticking out by the door

"Yeah" I say a bit to quickly

"Oh did you tell her about the thing?" Isaac asks Scott

"Not yet" Scott says

"What thing?" I ask them both

"She's going to find out eventually" Isaac says

"What?"

"Jailee you might want to sit down for this" Scott says and I walk over to my bed then take a seat

"Is it something bad?" I ask

"For us maybe but for Derek yes" Scott says and I just realised I haven't thought about Derek in a long time

"But Derek is dead" I tell them both sternly not trying to cry over the fact that the person I love is gone

"Actually no he's not Jay" Isaac says and my jaw drops but I can feel the tears coming along

"Please don't lie to me" I say

"Why would we?"

"He's alive?" I say and sniff
